I'm starting to get into taking photos (usually I just draw).
I would love someone to give me feedback on my pet bird photos... what you like about them, what you dislike. Any tips would be great too, thank you!
I use a digital camera, just a little Olympus. Some of the photos are tweaked in Photoshop.

(you don't have to look at all of them if you don't want to, obviously)

I love the focal point on the bright, red eye in the first one.

I'm not very fond of the lighting/shadows in the second, but it's a good concept.

The third had me tilting my had back and forth. I generally don't like abstract shots, but the colors of the macro are amazingly detailed and wonderful. Something about the focus on the white part of the eye was a bit too harsh for me, however.

The fourth photo was very professional looking; it reminded me of a museum exhibit of taxidermied birds.

In the fifth shot, the stuffed animal in the background was much too distracting. If it had been removed, it would have been another excellent shot. And might I add again that your bird has wonderfully colored eyes. [[:

The two birds in the foreground of the sixth picture looked quite comical, as if they were having a conversation, however that pesty bird cleaning itself in the background seems to have ruined the shot a bit. Oh well.

Lastly, the final photo was my least favorite of the bunch. I was bewildered thinking it was a polar bear on its hind legs, but then realized it was an aerial view of a bird. The colors were much too similar between the bird's feathers and the cloth and there was very little to keep my attention.

Phew, I'm done! All in all, I would say that you did an excellent job, and if your drawings are even half as good as your photography, I would love to see them!

The bird colorful bird if very pretty. The fourth picture from the top is quite nice the one with the black background. The others with a cloth background or a cage background aren't very appealing to me. Good pic quality on all of them btw.
Keep at it !!

They look very soft to me. (only looked at first 2)

is it focus or shutter speed? try a fast shutter speed like 250 or more and use as much depth of field as you can like at least F8, to do that you will need some bright light (im nure sure how birds would handle it) and maybe a little more ISO

use tri/monopod and light,light,light

A Kathwah "ab-original", I take it? Quite the choice fashion diva. I like the composition and the eyes of the model that take you up to the nest...yet leave you wondering what is down below (spoken like a true man, of course)...but it makes one wonder if with the aviary motif, it may be better suited for a sheila with white hair, mate...
