I remeber hearing that the huns might have be descendants of mongols but im not sure if its true. Any ways I just thought they were both great armies and conqueored great nations. Huns almost destroyed roman empire. Mongols conqueored the chinese. Give info to who you think would win.

Hunny no offence but bravezulu was right. Huns didnt have elephants. They pillaged and used horses was their only tactics.

The mongols Would destory the Huns.
The mongols captured most of the known world during their time.
Mongols were so much that villages/cities didnt fight them because they know that they would die.
When they conquered an area they drafted the troops to join their army. They also used siege weapons (trebuchet) effectivly. They spread as far west as Germany and as far north as finalnd. The mongols killed millions of people while they were in power. They were mostly nomadic people who got other nomadic people to help them.

The huns were also nomads. they didnt spread that much. They only had europe as their land. They had surperior weapons than their oppenents. They sacked rich cities and had taxation on most cities and areas. They also took in peopel from other tribes.

If the Huns and Mongols fought. The Mongols would win.

The Mongols...they were getting ready to invade Europe just before Ghengis Khan died, and also because the Mongols were very smart and boiled their water before they drank it in the form of tea, that they didn't suffer from water born illnesses which were the bane of most armies...besides the Huns were stupid.

...and the Mongols rode horses, the sturdy little beasties were hardy and tough, and made the Mongols a fast moving army. The idiot Huns used elephants to trample their enemies...not much of a strategy, really. After the elephants died crossing the Alps, the Huns fell apart.

HuneyGirl has the reason for the Mongols not conquering Europe correct but I think she is confusing the Huns under Attila and Hannibal from Carthage. I would put my money on the Monguls if they attacked in force.

given the relative extent of their conquests, the Mongols.

After their conquest of China, they had far more troops than any other competitor.

Of course, no sane general fights the way his opponent would like, which is why the Polish withstood the Mongols by fighting from within the forests of Eastern Europe where the Mongol horse archers were at huge disadvantages.
