Having asthma won't stop you from being a cop as long as it isn't bad enough that you can make it through the academy. I have athsma and was accepted. Keep your record clean from here on out. Get your foot in the door somewhere. If you were an explorer, and didn't leave on bad terms, you should already be known with one department. If that is not the department you may want to work for, talk with other officers and see if you can volunteer with other departments. Knowing people isn't going to hurt you any. If you want to go with the FBI then go for it. Push to go federal. I'm assuming you may need college for the federal jobs but I am not 100% positive. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

Most agencies don't care about the asthma thing as long as you can pass a physical to get on and preform the job to their standards. In order for you to be a detective you have to do the time out on the streets as a patrol officer then move up. The FBI wants a 4 year degree so stay in school and work hard at it you can get on some where

The FBI is always looking for people with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, so I suggest that you consider pursuing that.

Best of Luck to You.
