It sounds to me like he is depressed. Have you sought counseling for him?? You may need to see if you can get someone to help you have him evaluated, such as a doctor or a judge.
This is not good for him and whatever it is, it will only get worse!

He is 37 for heavens sake...it's time to cut the apron strings and kick his a** out of the house. Tell him that he has one month to find a job and three months to find a place of his own or he has to find another person to mooch off of. There is absolutely no reason for him to be in his room 22 hours a day. He really needs to get a life.

Your son could be suffering from depression. Has he recently lost his job? Was he married and is now divorced?
Have you tried talking to him? It could also be hormonal.....this old world is a hard pill to swallow....maybe you can convince him to see a doctor.
I hope he gets better soon.. Peace to you.

If you tolerate this, you are enabling him. You need to take him to your Physician and find out if he suffers from Depression, you need to let him know, that he needs to go the work and support himself asap. You are hurting him, by allowing this behavior.

Sounds like he is depressed. If you can, try to get him some help by seeing a therapist. Good luck!

Does he live with you? This is not natural. He should get some help, or have some help come to him.
