I think tornadoes represent the ultimate unpredictable destructive force; maybe they're a metaphor for feeling like you can't control things in real life. And the fact that in your dreams you are trying to rescue other people who don't recognize the seriousness of the situation seems like maybe you feel like people around you don't take things seriously enough. I don't know. I used to have frequent tornado dreams as well; seems like they coincided with times of stress and worry. But you seem to be a leader who tries to take control in your dreams and that can't be a bad thing.

I used to have tornado dreams when I was a little girl, all the time. Sometimes there would be a bunch of them in a line, touching down from a really dark sky, sometimes there would be one at a time but they would come one after the other. I looked it up once and found out it had to do with scary events or people that you have no control over, that you feel small and helpless and cannot change your situation, and something bad will happen because of it. Find out what the waking fear(s) is/are....then your storms will pass!

i have dreams about tornadoes all the time as well. when i was about 8 there was a funnel cloud forming across the street from my house and every one was freaking out and since i was kind of young and confused as to what was going on, tornadoes still really scare me. so i don't know if this has something to do with my reoccuring tornado dreams.
anyways, my tornado dreams are always so vivid and sometimes i'll actually be in them or hiding in a house as they pass over. i even tell myself its just a dream and to open my eyes to wake up because i know the tornado is coming. i rarely can wake up from these though and then when i wake up in the morning it takes me a while to snap out of it that it was just a dream because it seemed so real.
i'm a bit of a worrier though and i think this has something to do with the chaotic aspect of my dreams as i often have other dreams as well that have to do with disasters. i find that times when i'm stressed out such as before a big test or starting something new i'll be more likely to have a tornado dream. they are really scary though and i'd like for them to stop. even when i'm aware i'm dreaming about them, i can't control them and its frusturating. when i go to bed i fall asleep easily and i don't think that im worried or stressed about anything but i guess i am subconsciously. i don't know if this will help at all but it's nice to know i'm not the only one with these scary reoccuring dreams!

When I was in my twenties, I had dreams of tornadoes, often four or five, and approaching me from all directions.
For me, tornado dreams are dreams of warning: warning that a turbulent, unpleasant time lies ahead. When I was able to slow down and take a good look at what was going on inside my head and in my life, and then took the appropriate actions, the tornado dreams ceased.

Sometimes tornadoes dreams are from God and concern future trouble which is going to come. Tornadoes are symbolic and trials, tribulations, and destruction to come. It take can months and sometimes years for tornado dreams to come to pass, but God gives them as extended warning for you to prepare yourself to hard times or trouble to come. Your dream points to the fact that you are aware of certain troubles to come, but the people you are warning are unconcerned or do not care. But in your case, these dreams are from the Lord.

It means stop worrying about things that arent important. chances are you are getting worked up about things, and its causing you a lot of unneccessary stress. Just calm down and the tornadoes will also calm down.

My guess, and this is just a guess, is that you have fear of certain areas of your life. The chaos that you feel you have no control over. But really, you have nothing to worry about. So be of good cheer and relax.

Dear alc99999,
I myself have dreamt of tornados. I dreamt of them twice and each time they seems so real. First of all, I just want to tell you I never saw a real tornado in my life. Only the ones in the TV. I am not living in the USA and my country doesn’t get tornados.
In one of my dreams, I was in my house but I notice the sky outside was getting grey and very dark. Then all of a sudden, I heard a sound. It was a terrible sound that I had never heard before. It sounds like something out of hell. It was like a howling terrible sound and it made you feel that there was something bad coming that it make the bottom part of your stomach collapses. Then I look outside and I couldn't believed what I saw. It was dark swirling wind with a narrow bottom and a very wide top. It look like it was 1/2 a mile from us but it was very huge. But after I saw it and was afraid, I woke up from my dream. Then, months later (or maybe years) the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" came out. I had to wait to see it on TV since I don't go to cinemas in my country. When they show the tornados, I could watch it. The sounds were just like in my dream. It just sound likes the devil to me and I couldn't bear to listen to it.
The second dream was like a continuation but it happens years after my first dream. It was this year. In my dream, my sisters and aunts were at my house. When they saw what was happening, they ran into the house from the veranda and they left the door open. So I ran to close it but on my way I saw the tornado was right in front of us but some distance away. I didn't reach in time to close the door. I was holding onto the door as I feel the tornado trying to suck me out of the house. All I knew was that I was holding on with all my life and I could feel my feet were in the air. I heard the tornado sound and at that time I knew I couldn't hold on forever. So I close my eyes, feeling the fear that this could be my end and I started to pray. As I pray, I feel my leg softly landed on the floor and I was not being pulled anymore. As I open my eyes and look up at the sky, it was bright with blue skies and white clouds like if there was no tornado. I began to cry. I guess they were happy tears. Then I woke up.
I don't know what dream really comes from. I am not a person who is specialized in that. But all I know, sometime dreams seem to be made up in what we have in our mind. First off it make things that are not real seem real. Like me meeting Josh Groban, lol. You would say that it could happen but I would say it couldn't and I know my reasons.
Another good example is when I had like a guy. I had really like him because we were really good and very close friends for three years. But then he told me he had found his match. That was when I found out that he only thought of me as a friend and nothing else. Of course that hurt me a lot. But one night I dreamt that we were in a jewelry store and we were at a counter looking at rings. I was wondering what was going on. He was just smiling at me. Then he picked up a ring and put it on my finger and hugs me. I started to cry. But they weren't tears of joy. They were tears of confusion. I knew he was in love with someone else but what was he doing now and why? Why was he playing this dirty trick on me?
Dreams sometime play tricks on us and sometime it could be cruel. But I am now going and tell you something that might sound weird but it is true.
One night, I dreamt a ship. I can't remember all the details. I remember it was sinking. I was somewhere in the ship where they had vehicles. In my dream, I was not standing on the ground but I was floating in the air where the vehicles were on the ship. As the ship rock, I saw the vehicles moving side to side. They were moving and hitting each other and the ship sides. I can't see if water started to come in. I just remember how the vehicles were moving with great force.
When I woke up in the morning, and was watching the news, I saw they were talking about a ship that was sinking. I can't remember where it happens. But at the time it happen, I was asleep. I was asking myself "Could it have been the same ship I dreamt? I couldn't be". Then I saw that they were showing computer graphics of a set of vehicles which was at the bottom of the ship. They graphics were showing what had happen. I can't remember what they said, but I did remember seeing the vehicles moving like in my dream. All I could have said was that I dreamt that. But it was no sense speaking about it. I couldn't have stopped it because it was happening at the same time I was dreaming it. But I still wonder why I dreamt it. My father had died at sea. I had been on the sea before but never on a cruise ship and I never saw vehicles on ships like that. Not even on TV. So how could I have dream this and why?
I would like to go on the sea again thou. Maybe a cruise around Europe and Rome. I love the sea but at the same time... I am scare of it.
So I don't know what to tell you about dreams. I don't know if I made you feel better or worst but I just wanted to share my dream with you. I hope you get a better answer soon. So good bye for now, take care and don't worry too much.
Your friend,
Princess Groban
