what makes you think we will live long enough to evolve?

We have removed ourselves from most evolutionary pressure, so there's little improvement that will happen now. We will change due to the pressure of sexual selection and random drift, but that's all.

If anything, we will slightly devolve now because those with common sense, judgement, and foresight use birth control and family planning, while morons kick out 11 whelps over a lifetime.

I'm afraid that we are the transition point between biological evolution and engineered evolution and intelligence. It is not our biological selves that will inherit the future, but our creations. I think true artificial intelligence is only 50 to 100 years away, and we already know that machines advance at a incredible pace.

I believe the next step is leaving behind the overwhelming force and importance of matter, and acknowledging the importance of information. even as we speak "Digital Physicists" are viewing all physical processes in the world (e.g. gravity/movement/force) as an information processing process. we are all deeply into computers which are actually tools that extract meaning/information from physical things that they simulate. this will go on to the extreme i believe...
until we reach the stage where we start to derive wisdom from this immense information processing structure (which some still call "The World").

I think one day "natural birth" as we know it will be obsolete. We will order our babies from the factory and who knows what will happen to sex?

Think about it. Breast feeding used to be common but not now. So will giving birth the old fashioned way become less and less common.

What you see is all there was and all there will be. Want proof? Look around you. None of us are in transition. Not one.
