i think it depends on the maturity of the child and what you think they can handle. i use to babysit at 11yrs old and did fine and was able and trustworthy to leave alone while my parents were gone however it took my sister alot longer. i would say anywhere from 11-13 is ok as long as they can get in contact with you if they need too and know the rules of the house

Well first off it always depends on the children, their maturity level, the neighbor you live in, etc. I'm not sure there's a proper age, some can handle it at ages 11, 12, and 13, but others can't until they are like 15 or older. However I would suggest no child under 10 in general should be left alone for long periods of time from 2 hours on without a trusted adult near by.

State laws vary from state to state. The child should know area emergency numbers and the numbers where he/she can call an adult for help. I would say that if the child is responsible and able to handle day to day life an 11 year old could stay home alone for an hour or so.

When the kid is mature and responsible. When the kid understands the consequences of his/her actions. Most importantly when the parents have done a proper job raising and educating the child. If you have doubts don't leave the kid alone. Also, many states have laws regarding children being left alone. Find out what the age is in your state.

all depends the age of the kid, and for how long. I wouldn't go off for 6 hours and leave my 3 year old.....
It's all about getting them to feel responsible. For example; if it was a 14 yo, you might start with going for a walk or coffee with friends close by. that might take an hour, and if that works out increase the time as long as the child felt comfortable.

I would say that depends on the maturity of the child in question. As a rule of thumb, I would not leave any child less that 12 home alone.

I think 11 is a good age to start out with 2 hours home alone, provided you cover all the safety issues like answering the phone or door. make sure contact numbers to a neighbour, where you are and any other emergency numbers are left for them to use should they need to.

In New York, I beleive the law say the child must be 13. If there is no law in your state, then the answer would depend on your relationship with the neighbor or how close a relative is that could assist in an emergency.

In most states 13 is the legal age, but it does depend on the maturity of the child.

properly the place I stay the regulation says they be living house on my own at age 12. I even have 13 year old twins who I enable to be living house on my own. The longest they have been living house on my own replace into approximately 4 hours. I also have a ten year old and a 7 year old (turning 8 in each and every week). I even have allowed my 10 year old to stay living house with the twins as my 10 year old is fairly mature for his age (each and every so often i could want to place him in value over the twins ha ha!). I enable my youngest to be living house with the twins besides yet on condition that i'm basically working as much as the keep. i would not do this for greater suitable than a 30 minute time span. i think of in case you start up up small then you definitely can advance it. you recognize your babies terrific and what they are in a position to handle and how lots you are able to believe them. we began letting my twins be living house on my own while they have been 12 yet in basic terms the two one among them at that ingredient and not for greater suitable than a pair hours. i would not have left my different 2 with them. i think of they'd desire to get used to doing it on my own previously they are in a position to be respobsible for a youthful sibbling.
