Tammy Faye Baker passed away Saturday. While she was on the "other team" I personally found her to be sincere in her faith and an interesting person.
I know the urge to jump up and cheer may be in you. I ask you don't. Death is a time of respect as she returns to the mothers loving arms to return again, perhaps to correct some of the wrongs she helped in doing.
When we like someone, we can name 20 things good about them. When we hate them we only focus on the one or two things that we color them with. All people are more than these one or two things. They each see the moon in its phases, the tides on the shore, The sun in the sky and the rain on our faces. They each dance with abandonment and cry in sorrow. They are each loved by some and despised by some. We are each human and children of the Lord and Lady. We each have our shining beauty and dark secrets. You (and I) don't like some of the things she did, but show love in your heart and ask the Lord and Lady to welcome here home, educate her and send her back. Who knows, she may be the child in your circle next year!
Lastly, who and how we show our dislike for someone says more than something about that person, but something about ourselves. Think about your actions. Hate brings nothing, Love brings peace.
Be at peace

Tammy Faye Bakker was a ludicrous figure who made a joke of herself by overdosing on mascara, and showed bad judgment, greed, or both by marrying a blatant crook who preyed on the elderly and gullible for funds.
I see NO reason to praise a predator like that.

I think losing their empire through fraud and Jim getting sent to prison actually did them both a world of good. I was quite amazed by the way Tammy Faye accepted the gay community and how they turned around and adopted her. In fact if it was not for the support of the gays I doubt if her movie "The Eyes of Tammy Faye," would have been nearly the success that it was. It is an interesting movie.
To bad that she got crapped on so bad by the other Christians. What Falwell and Robertson did to them was nothing but a crime.

im sorry, but i cant help but be happy. So many things about this just make me want to ask all the religious zealots and fanatics out there questions.
why if she was doing gods work, would he let her die of cancer?
If she was so holy, why did she mary 3 times and divorce 2 times, to 2 men who went to prison for various crimes.
it seems to me that for someone who created an evangelical empire, telling people about the glory of christ, she didnt live the best life herself, nor did god help her in her time of need
yes, she was a kind woman, but she led way to many people into the arms of a hypocritical, evil religion, and for that, i can not be sad that she is gone. Im glad that she is free of her pain, and sad that she had to suffer it, for i am not heartless, but i am sad also, because all the people who are lambs of a religion full of hatred towards those who are different from them.
rest in peace tammy

I have two views of her. Before the scandal and after. Before the scandal Ithought she and Jim represented a very worldly materialisitic-use-God-to-get-rich type of Christianity (although they did NOT start out this way)...but after the scandal both she and Jim came through the suffering with testimonies that were much more authentic and they presented a real Savior and God with real lovefor real people with real hurts. She looked so sick andthin on Larry King that my heart went out to her. Yes may she rest in the peace of the Lord Jesus.

Like Tammy Faye I am fighting a recurrence of cancer.
She led a colorful life - one filled with things that she must regret. But we all have made mistakes. On the other hand I admire the fact that she seemed to like the person that she was - mascara and all. She seemed to be very kind to gay individuals as they were kind to her in a time of need. In the end she was a fighter who dealt with the end of life with grace.
She has inspired me and blessed me. I am at peace with my situation and I am glad that I have my faith in God.

She now weighs fifty six kilos. there is in ordinary terms lots the medical doctors can do. Her wellbeing is going down very fact, so i in my opinion do not see her making it till the top of the three hundred and sixty 5 days. She retains asserting she's unlikely to die and could combat this maximum cancers. She has the force and decision to stay. If i became in her shoes, i might pray to God to take me abode (Heaven) perfect now, the place i may well be freed from all discomfort and ailment.

I watched the Larry King show with Tammy Faye on Thursday. I felt so sorry for her for her illness. Then I listened to her and she had such strong faith and such strong strength from God also she still had her humor.
When I heard of her death, I thought 'God sent her on TV to tell all that no matter what you are going through have strength, have faith in God and don't be afraid of dieing, don't worry about things that you have no control over.'
No matter what happened in the past with her it is in the past. She was truly and inspiration to me since she got cancer she let people know how she felt and how she prayed etc.
Rest in peace Tammy for I truly believe you are in heaven and someday I want to meet you.

I met Tammy Faye when she lived in Palm Springs. She was funny, warm, engaging, and a lot of fun. I think that she had the misfortune brought by her marriage, but she personally had many admirable qualities. I'll miss Tammy Faye. She was one of a kind.

Actually, I did see her once a reality TV show. I don't remember the details, but it seems they were trying to humiliate her, and she handled it with grace & class. I am not a Christian, but that does not mean I dislike or hate anyone who is. From my scant observations, I too find her to be sincere, warm hearted and interesting. My heart goes out to her family & friends at this time.
