I am a sincere Christian who is curious as to why that hatred runs so deep in some people.

I don't hate people who don't think like me, that would be against Christ's teachings. I have a lot of friends and family who aren't Christians who I love and respect, but I would be lying if I didn't want to see them accept Christ. That is because I really believe that is what they need. Would my faith be worth anything if I didn't believe John 3:16?

People who "hate Christians" don't actually hate normal Christians who actually behave as Christ would hve them. What we hate are people who assume they have the answer to everything and everyone else is wrong and are constantly preaching and trying to convince people to agree with them.
Real Christians have humility and are humble and are not needy as in self appointed 'shepards of God' assuming the role of God's personal helper, which is nothing more than an ego boost for an insecure person.

People who hate Christians only hate fanatics and zealots who are just like terrorists in their passion and constantly preach at other people, thereby taking their own focus off of themselves.

I don't hate Christians. My husband and mom are both Christian, and I have a lot of Christian friends. I used to be one. My problem is with the intolerant ones that bash gays, single mothers, and anyone else they happen to think is sinful. I also think it's awful to hear Christians talk badly of other religions like they have a monopoly on truth. I also don't like Christians treating atheists like we're all immoral just because we don't believe in the supernatural. If an open minded Christian respects diversity of belief, then he or she is fine with me. Now you as a sincere Christian should be out there setting a good example for your faith. More good examples could maybe counteract the fanatics and extremists.

I don't hate Christians, quite a few of my friends are Christian. My problem is when anyone of another religion repeatedly tries to convert me and attacks my beliefs. Like men who tell me that I HAVE to have children and be a housewife because their book demands it...then I get mad.

But I won't hate all Christians, that's just ignorant. I just can't stand the ones that hate me for who I am. You seem like a good guy, though. And at least you're not preaching.

Although I don't hate Christians, I think I can shed some light on your question.

While I do my best not to hate anyone, ever, sometimes I do experience a strong distaste for individuals who presume to instruct me about my spiritual beliefs without my having specifically asked.

But I think you'll have to know more about me before you'll be able to understand.

I've circled this star 63 times. I've studied almost every religion in existence today, and a number of ancient ones. I've read the Bible through enough times to know precisely what it says. I've studied the Nag Hammadi transcripts, and the Qumran codices.

I have a strong spiritual faith that's served me well throughout most of my adult life, and it's not of Judeo-Christian-Muslim origin. I respect faith in others and would never presume to tell anyone what they should believe.

So. Hundreds of times in my life I've encountered Christians, Muslims, Mormons, whom I didn't wish to emulate, but who were insistent and inquisitive about my beliefs. Christians, Mormons and Muslims who wished to impose on me the details of their own faiths without my having expressed an interest.

Christians and Mormons whom I had no reason to admire, who presumed to tell me without my having instigated the conversation, what I should believe, and what would happen to me if I didn't adopt their beliefs.

Mormons and Christians, often half my age, no obvious credentials, experience, not even knowledge of their own holy books, institutional history, doctrine, instructing ME as to how theirs was valid and the faith I love is not.

I don't love Christians. I don't trust Christians for reason's that would take to long too explain here. But this is a starting point, a beginning of the explanation you asked for.

I wouldn't go as far as saying I hate them. My mom has some Christian friends who are genuinely nice people in and out of church. I'm just annoyed at some of their judgmental, high and mighty, holier than thou attitudes and the need to shove their beliefs on me whenever they have the chance.

I hate the Christianity, not the Christian... ;)

I don't hate Christians but I do hate the way many of them act.

The constant attempts at conversion, at making their religious beliefs into laws, and at converting other people's children. The self righteous attitude "I'm saved and you're not, you are going to hell", "only my religion could be the TRUTH". And. most notably, the hatred they spew towards anyone who believes or acts differently. It makes me sick.

There are some who seem to be above all that but they are few and far between.

Christians tend to be holier-than-thous who like to force their weird views of the world down everyone else's throats. Although most people do not hate christians, we certainly do not like this attitude and behavior of most christians. Christians don't like to share the earth, as they feel superior to everyone else. Look at the freak poop and his recent comments.

Many of us who disagree with your "approach" hate no one. We are merely somewhat perturbed, on your behalf, that so many could be so misled by, to us, obvious charlatans and psychopaths.

The agenda of the "hierarchies" involved appears to us to be greed, and power mongering, and domination and control of every aspect of the lives of the followers. Doesn't seem that holy.

We wish you luck.

Btw, this may "resonate" wih some who have found this question of interest. http://www.keylonticdictionary.org/Words/A/At-One-Ment.htm

My personal issue is with Jehovah's Witnesses because most of my extended family is with Kingdom Hall. My mom and I are secular, and the last time we visited them, my indoctrinated cousins were very cold and rude toward me. My main solution is to not visit them anymore.
