Truth hurts because it causes you to look at your self and it's fallacies and in doing so it's not easy to admit your wrong doings,.......but this is why God forgives,... so we don't burden our selves with a guilt trip,....because if we allow that then it steals our joy.....accept his forgiveness so the truth might set you free. God Speed!

It is easier for many to tell lies and get away with it. It is very easy. But do something wrong or bad to someone and try to tell that person you did it and confess, that is bitter and heavy as you say. But in the end it will make your life easier. Because if you lie, when the truth does finally come out, your pain will be worse. I have seen people lie and when the truth finaly came out, boy were they in deeper trouble.
Once I did many years ago, a bad thing and lied. When it was out in the open, boy was I in deep hot water and the situation was worse than ever.
So face it the first time telling the truth and ask for forgiveness from that person and there is a big chance that all will be well.
When you hide the dirt under the carpet all the time from visitors instead of vacuming or sweeping the dirt up, it makes a big lump under the rug, then when it holds no more all the dust comes bursting out and the whole house will need a bigger cleaning than ever. So to avoid all this trouble, see dust or dirt pick it up and in the trash can.

Damn if that is not so right. The best cold medicine ever is Buckleys. That shjt tastes like the horses as$ attached to a chemical toxic waste pipe. I would be lying if that is not the best cold medicine ever. Seriously a half an hour after you feel 1 trillion percent better. The falsehood sucks because it is like th e honey elixir that is falsehood. Sweet and easy going, but in the end does not do a damn thing.

The truth leads to light and sweet things even though you may go through rough times. Falsehood may SEEM light and sweet but when ou really get down to it, falsehood is awful.

If truth was light and sweet and if falsehood is heavy and bitter, then this world will be so boring, no need to fight and no need to learn to accept truths

Falsehoodd is like the broad road that is popular because it is easy to travel. Its travelers are self-indulgent, given to fleshly thinking and ways, and they want, not to be different, but to conform to the world around them. They feel morally hemmed in by God’s laws and principles. (Ephesians 4:17-19) Yet, Jesus specifically said that the broad road leads “off into destruction.”

Truth is described as the cramped road. Primarily because only a minority want God’s laws and principles to govern their lives and to help them resist the many inducements to and opportunities for wrongdoing around them. Furthermore, only a comparative few are prepared to fight illicit desire, peer pressure, and the fear of ridicule that may come their way because of the path they have chosen.—1 Peter 3:16; 4:4.

These ones understand fully how the apostle Paul felt when he described the fight that he had in saying no to sin. Like today’s world, the Roman and Greek world of Paul’s time provided a broad road of opportunity to indulge in wrongdoing. Paul explained that his mind, which knew what was right, waged an ongoing ‘war’ with his flesh, which leaned toward wrongdoing. (Romans 7:21-24) Yes, Paul knew that his body was a good servant but a bad master, so he learned to say no to it. “I pummel my body and lead it as a slave,” he wrote. (1 Corinthians 9:27)

.Hope this help.

Where does that type of thinking come from? That question sounds so filled with sadness.

I'd be willing to bet you see things frequently in black and white. The world is largely gray.

The truth can bring joy and a lie can bring pain ... and all shades in-between. Some truth, like beauty...is in the eyes of the beholder.

For the ego this would be the scenario but for the soul it would be the opposite :) There is a battle going on in the soul and truth which hurts the ego is honey for the heart, which is seat of the soul.

Because Ha Shem, the God of Avraham, Yitzok, and Ya'akov is hated by the world. They desire what pleases them and not what pleases Him. He is truth, and all that speak opposite of Him are liars. No one wants to hear that.
