A Friend of mine was staying with her baby at my house to get away from her bad realationship. In the morning I was off to work and she was waiting for her mom to come get her. I told her to lock all doors and then go out the back locking it behind her. Well a week went by and I went to use my laptop it was missing. Came to find out her mom never picked her up. One of the girls I work with and her thug boyfriend came to get her. My friend says they only came in to help her gather her things and bring them to the car, (this gave him the perfect chance to easily grab to laptop on the way out to the car without being seen. When I approached my co-worker of her theiving boyfriend she1st denied it. I told her I had it video ( which I didn't) The next day she wrote me a note saying I was right, she saw my laptop yesterday at his house, but she wants nothing to do with it. I don't know where he lives exactly except it is a good 45min drive. Weeks have gone by, How do I prove he did it.

If you have proof that the laptop belongs to you (serial number, proof of purchase?) and you report it to the police, especially if you think you know who stole it, the police should help you get it back.

first you file the police report or there's nothing you can do, then you go to your local court house and file a case against him and you include your co-worker if she saw it she will have to say so to the judge if not that's perjury she can go to jail tell her what your doing and that if she does not help you your going to take that note to the police then they will both be in trouble she can lose her job behind this

Take the note to the police. Or try to get her to admit it to you via email, that way you have proof, plus if she refuses to testify against him, then tell her that she can be charged as an accessory to the crime

Take your friend to the police station when you file the report.
Tell her you won't go after her if she helps get it back, if she doesn't you can hold them both responsible. The longer you wait the more likely it's theirs.

Easy. Go to your local law enforcement agency and report the theft. They should interview the woman and her ex. Hopefully you will get your laptop back and, if you want, press charges against him for the theft.

Just file a report and make sure you recover your stuff. If you keep quiet you will be promoting crime.
