gasoline mileage has extra to do with the habit of your maximum suitable foot than maximum different aspects. although, the different aspects ( if blended ) can easily shrink mileage. those aspects incorporate, yet are no longer limited to : pointless weight interior the mattress or at the back of the seat, 2 or 4 WD, instruction manual or vehicle trans, standard or prolonged cab, underinflated tyres, tyres outfitted for off-highway or highway use, towing, air/gasoline filters clogged. I definitely have a 2001 Ranger, great cab, 2WD, 3.0L, vehicle. i hardly carry something interior the mattress & i do no longer tow something. My blended ( city/highway ) mileage averages 21 mpg. the suitable possible mileage i ever have been given became 23+. Even below the suitable circumstances, pickup autos are no longer mileage champs, inspite of make ( Ford, Toyota, GM, Nissan, etc. ) or all the climate reported above. they are no longer aerodynamic through their layout. If gasoline mileage is your universal concern, get a small automobile w/ a 4 cyl/5 spd.

no, it would probably be pretty bad mileage compared to other cars you could get for the same money. but be sure to factor in the cost of buying a good gas mileage car when you decide what to buy. sometimes you end up spending more for a high mileage car than you save in gas. We would all be grateful to you for doing that, as its in everyone's best interests to burn less gas, but I'm guessing you have to watch expenses like most people do.
