Do everything from open mic nights to calling whatever type of venue you want to play. Make sure you have a demo to give them as well! Also, you may want to consider calling a booking agent, they have a whole list of places for people to play.

spend some time arranging the songs so that people hear guitar riffs that they associate with the song. also play shorter solos and sing more. usually soloing doesnt connect with people as much as your voice. To get gigs, start playing free places and develop your stage presence. have a good repetoir of songs and know how to play the songs people may request in your area. put together a good set with a combination of songs that vary in style and speed. get together a demo tape and press kit. lots of advice there ;)

Put together a small promo pack- including a cd sampling of your work, and hit the clubs. go during the afternoon, when the owner/manager isn't busy with customers, and talk to him/her. Like any other job interview, look them in the eyes and be personable and confident. Good luck!

i would not say i'm getting "emotional", yet i admire listening to the solo from So that's Love by Van Halen. that's basically the suited greater healthful for an surprising song. unquestionably, quite some EVH's guitar soloes are basically fairly astounding, i'm unable to record all of them here.

Sundays and weekdays are your best bet, and smaller bar's. Show up before it gets busy and offer to play for free. If you're good, can put on a good show and have some personality they may offer to pay you a little to show up on day's they are trying to increase revenue on.
