Actually we go to church to shoot pool, dance & gamble!!! We know this drives the Non-church goer crazy!!! We have No Idea, as to how long the "Day" in the Creation Story was! We are the ones who track time as a period in the Rotation of the Earth. The Scripture writers could only go on what they Physically observed & to them the Sun went around the Earth. We made up the "Days, Weeks, Months & Years" as we deemed proper. The Jews worship on Saturday, stopping all work on Friday at Sundown. Which has been the "Tradition" for centuries. The Catholic church chose Sunday. Many people worshiped the Sun on Sun Day & it was a way to "Reach Out" to "Meld" their Beliefs into the Catholic church. Actually unless U have Accepted Christ, none of Ur Prayers are even heard by God!!! The First Prayer God hears is when U Accept Christ and are made "Righteous" by His Blood!!! John

I'm a Christian and I pray daily, even a few times daily. God said in the bible that He will never leave us or forsake us and That He never sleeps or slumbers. He will always be with us, hear us and answer our prayers {according to His will}. It may not be the answer we won't at times, but He always answers.

And Sunday is just the 7th day of the week we choose to honor God's wish for resting on the 7th day and praying to Him. The Jewish people have a different Sabbath, The Islamic people have a different Sabbath, and there is even some Christian's who have a different Sabbath {7th day Adventist}. God really doesn't care what day your honor and pray to Him just as long as you do.

Great Question!!!!

I love this question. I never thought of it this way. What's really strange is that the original sabbath is on Saturday. The reason it was changed was because Jesus rose on the Sunday. But did anyone ever think that maybe the reason he didn't rise on the Saturday was because he was taking the Sabbath off.
I'm really not trying to be offencive here. I'm being serious. I have never understood why it was changed. I also don't understand why the Christians don't celebrate things like passover. Jesus was still a Jew and he observed these holidays. If they were important to him why are they no longer important to his followers.

A "Christian" prays all days of the week, though out the day; if they are really Christian.
The first Christian Roman Caesar ordered the Sabbath to be changed to the first day on the week, during the second half of the fourth century because sun worshipers (ones that believed the sun was a god) kept killing Christians on the last day of the week because they were easy to spot, since they worshiped a different day.
Some religions today have "seventh day" in their name because they went back to keeping Saturday, the seventh day, the most holy day.

Nah, we couldn't let God get lazy could we? Lol, it is just culture really. Yes, God did rest on that day, and no, I see no problem with worshiping him on a Sunday, as well, as a Monday through Saturday. Yeah, you could pray to him on a Monday and he wouldn't mind, but honestly tell me, why would you pray to him anyways? Obviously you could care less about doing it because your asking a question like this. Well, enjoy your evening!

Christians pray everyday. Prayer is talking to God.
The apostles were all Jews and would attend service on Saturday. While there they would tell others about Jesus. This got the Jewish leaders angry. They told the apostles and early Christians to choose between the Jewish religion or Christ. They choose Christ and were kicked out of the Jewish faith, choosing Sunday as the day of their worship since Christ rose from the dead on that day.

God did not need to rest on the 7th day, but He did so anyway to set the example for what He wants us to do. It is not so important which day of the week we take as a day to rest from our labors, but it's important rather, that we set a day aside to take it easy and recuperate from the week.

As for praying on a Sunday, I pray each and every day - not just on Sundays, and not just in church.

I pray everyday, but people pray a lot and go to church on sunday because day 7 was the day he rested

God rested on the seventh day so you can come to his house and visit him. It doesn't have to be only on a Sunday that you can pray.. you can go to the house of the Lord anytime... and pray anywhere at any given time.. God doesn't have a busy signal or walls put up against us.. people do.

You don't have to pray on just Sunday.... in fact God says to pray continually. that means we should pray everyday not just Sunday and we can pray anywhere. It doesn't have to be just at church, it can be anywhere. God is different then humans. He actually CARES and WANTS to hear from us, unlike humans who can be selfish or too busy to listen to others. But God is always there for you.
