No. The Bible speaks of those gifts ending as the Bible writing was completed. Keep in mind the purpose for speaking in tongues. The ability to communicate to others of different languages especially there at Pentecost of 33CE. Jerusalem was full of people from different lands to observe Pentecost.
It was never meant to confuse people as those supposed people do today. On those rare occasions when someone did understand, the words were the most vile cursing. This did not originate with God.

No. Furthermore, all Christians are baptized with the Holy Spirit. The passages in Acts that many take to describe a second work of grace, actually refer to either the Holy Spirit's initial outpouring after the Ascension, or else to people who had received John's baptism but had not yet heard the whole Gospel of Jesus.

I have heard that the only way to be saved (from a Pentecostals point of view) is to join them & you HAVE TO-HAVE TO speak in tongues while others pray over you. So if I was forced into becoming a Penticostal I'd say supercali-fragilistic-expialido-tious! Like Mary Poppins!

The current speaking in tongues was invented in the 1800's. It has nothing to do with the Holy Spirit. It is man's invention. In Biblical days it was.

typically the true baptism of the holy spirit is accompanied with the evidence of speaking in tongues..
however,,, a person can be saved and very devout and close to God and never have this experience
the baptism/tongues is usually for those who desire to serve God in some special way, like intercession for others,....and it is usually only experienced by those who actually believe in it and desire and ask for the gift.
for any gift, we have to ask the Father for it, and we will receive it if it is His will for us.
obedience to God is what gets God's approval...not a gift......

I don't know how simple a question that is. I have seen baptisms where people spoke in tongues and other's didn't. I don't think it is the same experience for anyone.

No. Tongues is not evidence of the Holy Spirit. Anyone can talk in tongues. Even Muslims do.
