Plainly put. I'm in no pain right now, but I haven't had a regular bowel movement in about 3 days, and I feel very bloated. I tried using an enema, but it was uneffective. I need a quick cure. Excertise, water, and fiber all seem like they are for long term avoidance of constipation, they won't help here and now will they? please give me advice.

Wouldn't the enema have helped compaction at the bottom?

you moght be impacted where you have been constipated long enough that it wont fit out. sounds gross but is real.

you need to try a stool softner that will make it easier for it too come out this with something to make you go will probably work. if not you might have to go to seek medical help...embarassing but necessary..

I would have suggested an enema for the fastest relief. What kind did you use? I would suggest getting Fleet brand; they're at most groceries for about $2. Make sure you leave it in until you have the urge to go...really cramping hard.

If you can handle it, get a laxative such as exlax; that should work overnight.

I'm getting upset at all the people suggesting drugs on here...try good old fashioned prune juice, drink a bunch of it. Doctors usually tell new moms this for their babies. Also, try dark Karo syrup. I used to mix it in bottles for the kids, maybe mix some in milk or water.

Good luck and hope everything comes out all right!

Penn maid cottage cheese (apple cinnamon)
Or Hot Tea with ginger snaps-
Cinnamon also acts as laxative, may want to put some cinnamon in tea, or make toast with butter, sprinkle cinnamon- or have some apple sauce with cinnamon.
