God created Man in His image and likeness, and Man returns the favour by creating God in His image all the time.
Look at extremism in any religion... Is God LOVE? Or when a religion is taken to literally, does God become hatred, intolerance, genocide and murder?
Is God of the Pentateuch (first 5 books of the Old Testament) the personification of love? Not really eh? Actually, if I went by the Pentateuch, I'd think of God as mean, petty and hateful deity that enjoys punishing and dominating His creation instead of being a loving Parent.
Compare that God to the God of the New Testament, which is the personification of Love, which God is.
Every religion creates God in their image to correlate to their times, politics and realities of life. This is why the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament, while the same God, seem so disparate. This is also why Jews rejected Jesus Christ as the Messiah, based on their Old Testament, they were looking for a warrior God who would come and vanquish their enemies and lead them to the Promised Land, crushing all opposition under His feet. They are STILL waiting aren't they?!?! Simply because they couldn't realize that Jesus Christ IS the Messiah and Saviour, but they didn't recognize Him because he preached pacifism, love and blessing your enemies.
And such, every religion on earth is a particular society in a particular time realization of God, and they attribute human emotions and actions to God, which is false, since God is beyond human understanding and emotions. That is why the true essence, the fullness of God, is unknowable in His entirety.

Interestingly enough in many relgions' the reverence /worship of animals was prelevent. Take the Egyptian, all the deities, while having human bodies, had the heads of animals. This was apparently due to the fact that the divine counternance was not associated with human features, but should have been something more. Ancient Greek Theology, was one of the first to actulized their deities with human facial features as they came to associate more closely with their Gods, suggesting that man created the Gods in his own image
If you are inquiring in a Christian manner, then God apparently created Man in his image

I believe man created God in man's image or why would God have so many human frailties like anger, jealousy, and revenge.
A real supreme being would care as much about what humans are doing as humans care about what ants are doing.

Man created God.
God is given human traits that would conflict with an all know ing being. Like emotions.
God always seams to hate the same people his flowers hate.
God is limited by his flowers restrictions. Like God can't lie. Or, God cannot be seen. If God created people it would be us that adheared to his restrictions.
#1 Reason: I have physical evidence that theists exist. God has never produced any evidence that can confirm his existance.

26Â And God went on to say: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth.” 27Â And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. 28Â Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”
