They're all rather brittle, and some (such as tungsten carbide) are extremely hard. I don't think any of them would be easy to machine. Tungsten carbide is used as the cutting tip for lathe tools, to give you an idea of how hard it is.

search for "ceramic" They're are a couple types they list as machinable. You should be able to pick one by your needs (size,temperature ect)
