For Christians, the Holy Bible consists of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament prepares for the New Testament with prophecies. The New Testament completes the Old Testament—the Messiah being fulfilled with the arrival of Jesus of Nazareth.

The Holy Bible was written by many authors over several centuries in many places through the inspiration of God. The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew whereas the New Testament, in Greek.

Did you know that because of the Bible, archeologists are able to find cities of antiquity and unearthed ancient ruins? If this is so, then there must be truth of what was written in olden times.

You may fool a few people but can you fool more than a billion people at the same time? There must be many people among these billions who are smart enough to discern the difference between truth and lies.

Who among the disciples of Jesus was awake to write down John chapter 17 when Jesus prayed at the Garden of Gethsemane? Can you write down what Jesus said in John chapters 14-17 and Matthew chapters 5-7, 10, 13, 18, 23-25? Weren’t these inspired by God to have these written down or do you still think that these were just man-made? Please use the commonsense that God gave us to know what is true and what is not.

BTW, the Holy Spirit who we talk to recommended that we use the King James Version because He said that it is nearer the truth. Did you know who can tell us the truth? John 16:13 states: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.” The Spirit of truth is another name for the Holy Spirit.

Man made? Only one man? Not so. Many. If you are really honest with yourself, look around and try to find any other writing that compares. There is none. The logistics alone are overwhelming in putting the Bible together where it all fits, no errors. You'd think a book compiled with writings as old as these would have many errors. Not so. No man or men could have done this. Impossible. It is what it says it is, the inspired written word of God.

What makes you say that the Bible is simply man-made? Do yourself a favor...In your own personal privacy...quietly yet sincerely ask Jesus into your heart ... (remember no one is going to know yet) and I will promise you you will see EVERYTHING differently. Unbelievers like you have nothing to loose. If you are so sure that the Bible is bogus then give this "Jesus thing" a shot... if it isn't "real" then you have lost nothing. If your life instantly chances...and it will if you are sincere...then you will be the advocate! Remember the hundreds of people who have separately documented the happenings of the times during Jesus's presences. The Old Testament which was written several years before the birth of Jesus skillfully predicts the events of the New Testament. Honey when you are facing death...believe me you will cry out to Jesus whether you believe now or not!!!! Save yourself!!!!!

Apparently you have never read the book of Daniel in the bible. If you read that and then check out your history books, you will find there is no way men could have written what is there without help from above. it has the history from several thousand years all spelled out in advance from Daniels time to the end of the world and it does it down to the very year of things coming about many centuries before they ever happened. There are other prophecies that foretell leaders that would come and mentions them by name. Now how could a man do that so accurately and tell the year it is to happen centuries in advance? If it is just a man made story as you say, it is impossible. But it is in there and tells who, what, when, and where it would be and it came about just as predicted. Now tell me if you can, how any man could do that with such accuracy if it were just man made stories. No way!! God told them what to write and men wrote it down and if you just read it and check it out with history, you will find it happened just the way it said it would thousands of years in advance. They wrote history before it happened down to the very day.

I've wondered that myself. An intelligent person can plainly see that the Bible is simply a compilation of fables and fairy stories. It is possibly the most inaccurate, confused and definitely the most sexist, book in use today. It astounds me that people not only rely on this book, they force it onto young people who are not yet old enough to think for themselves. When a person is able to think for himself, exposure to the Bible is no more than exposure to Grimm's Fairy Tales or some Disney story.

I rely on myself.

Man-made story? Who told you that!?

The Bible is a wonderful collection of holy books inspired by God. Within its covers, you will find 66 different books, penned by 40 different writers, over a period of more than a thousand years. And yet, it is consistent to its theme from one book to the next, from one writer to the next, from one era to the next.

No mere human is capable of such a feat. Goodness, mankind cannot even pass on a phone message through 10 other people without the message getting totally messed up.

That reveals that the Bible has books, and writers, but a single Author, God Himself through the Holy Ghost.

Jen, When you have experienced hard times in your life, what did you rely on to get you through it? Every faith or religion has it's own doctrin and teachings that are in place so that it's followers can learn from and better their lives. You are correct that the bible was written by men, but through faith one may believe it was through the power of god that it was written just like any other religiouse book.

Have you read it?
66 books written by 44 writers over 1,600 years and 8 countries yet there is but a single thought.
God's creation falls from God's grace.
God's restoration of fallen man into His grace.
God's eternal reign with those He has restored.

How would mere man be able to pull something like that off?
And I might add that they were so meticulously maintained that the oldest of manuscripts show less thatn a 5% deviation from the newest and most of that difference is in tense and not meaning or idea.

Other than having been forced into it as babes and cast into eternal fear by the threats of things greater than physical death........which only a 'man' would do, I think its a way for those people to be totally IRresponsible. They don't have to think for themselves, they always have someone (devil/god?) to blame things on, they care nothing for the planet's well being, and they refuse to take personal responsibility for their actions, and their religion's actions. It's a way to live the gift of life in denial and unapproachable fear. Yikes!
