[sigh] god i've been asking this too much and have been getting useless replies, and now i find a miraclee. (you) I have too questions.. 1. i'm 13 turning 14 this august and i weigh only 87 pounds. i feel very self-conscious and am quiet worried. Do you have any advice? Also, i'm 5''2 1/2. I really need advice on how 2 gain weight because a lot of ppl have come forth and called me anorexic... plz help


also... is eyeliner harmful 2 the eyes? my mom says it is and that's her excuse 4 not allowing me to wear it.. but my dad lets me???//

m startin with the easiest part- the eyeliner. ask ur mom whether she has had any probs with it and why she doesnt want u to use it. i think maybe bcoz using makeup so early in life will damage ur eyes or skin. so, use it with her permission and apply it stylishly.a thin layer near the roots of the lashes will be the best option. it wont look made up and is very natural to look at.and ya, use it on special occasions and when u go out rather than to school or at home.

ur 13. and that's veryyyy young. u know, u shudnt b worrying about ur weight at this time. i was younger than u and thinner. and i wanted to gain weight. and now, m dying to lose it.
as you grow older, your body develops and it builds muscle on it's own. u have to stay as u are, for a while( 6months-1year).i am sure ur body is going to change in that while.

so, just play it cool. u know ur body is developing and changing and you'll have a better one. there is no need to feel so self conscious andworry. just enjoy school and being with ur friends.

and about people calling u anorexic, all i have to say is, it's ur body and people have no right over it. they cant call u stuff like that. tell them this and also that u will do whatever u want to wiyth ur body. coz it's urs and not theirs.
dont be afraid or worried or depressed. show off about it and say that there are sizes of clothes which cant fit ur friends but u can get into them easily.
u know, ur problem is not a problem for u, as u think. it's actually a boon 4 u. u wont have to lose weight when u come of age.i think u have to enjoy the other things around you and be happy. it's better to be thin and "in shape" than to be fat, overweight, shapeless and have health, skin and other problems.
i think u should start liking urself and be as u are.

well now, about gaining weight, ive said so much already, i dont think u need any more advice, but the best and safest way to be is to be active. keep walking and jogging and running . this will build great legs. skipping will also help. swimming makes great bodies. so, u can keep the fat off as well as build muscle. ur body will become fit and supple.
about ur diet, i'll say u eat healthy. cut out fat and junk. have ur greens and vegetables. these contain the good fat and proteins which help build muscle. remember to have protein the size of ur fist(max.) daily. alot of protein gives u fat. have carbs.like bread....as the largest part of ur diet. and have loads of fruits and veggies. have a glass or two of milk everyday.
have 5 small meals per day. u'll be more active and fitter.
u want a fuller body rather than a fatter one,right? so avoid junk-burgers and colas and sodas. they will just spoil ur health.and u'll store fat in the wrong places and u'll be lumpy. just eat healthy and enjoy life. be happy and i promise u will have the best body in ur class two years ahead of now, and u wont regret it.

I was 90 lbs when I was your age. I'm a little over twice your age, same height, and weigh 128. People would always tell me I was "skinny". People don't realize that calling someone skinny versus thin is hurtful, especially when you're 14 and hear it over and over again.

If you know you are not anorexic or bulimic, don't worry about trying to gain weight. Trust me, it will come with age. Besides, it may cause you to begin eating unhealthy foods. Continue eating healthy. Try some exercise like weight training to tone up if you don't already to give your muscles some definition. But trust me, as you get older, the weight will be harder and harder to keep off and then you'll dream of the days when you had to work to gain it.

As far as the eyeliner goes, there's nothing harmful about it that I know, other than if you're not careful when you're putting it on, you can poke yourself in the eye. Good luck!

Don't feel bad - I weighed 81 at your age[ also at 5'2" ]. I got up tp 110, and 5'4" at almost 16, and stayed there for years. people call everyone who is underweight 'anorexic' - they are just jealous of your 'fine behine' [ quote from a friend ].
Eat well, take vitamins, stay active in sports, PE, or on your own. When did you get your period? You will grow a lot for the two years after that, then level off.
Also, I think 13 is a bit young for eyeliner - maybe mascara instead? Save eyeliner for special occasions. Neither will hurt your eyes, as long as you get a drugstore or department store brand.

No, eyeliner isn't bad for the eyes.
I wear it almost everyday and I go to
the optometrist 2 times a year,
and he hasn't said anything about my eye being infected =)

I weigh 82 pounds and I'm 5'2"
The reason why I'm so skinny is because I have fast metabolism, which means I digest foods quickly, so I don't absorb much fat.
If you want to gain some weight, slow down your metabolism.
Believe it or not,
Not eating as much slows it down.
You should eat like 1 1/2 meals a day for a week,
and then eat alot... preferrably fatty foods.
Oh, and when you start eating alot, sleep more too. =)

I'll just say thin is in. If you're not anorexic and you have a healthy appetite here's what you do. Your solution is going on the offense. You say " I'm just very fortunate to have a very active metabolism I can eat lots of good food and not worry about calories" Or ' I'm young I'll most likely turn out finer that you, I can wait perfection takes time" But I can't stand you worrying about gaining weight, walk upright and develop talents like guitar playing, juggling or computer software skills. good luck!

Eat balanced meals. Since it's still summer, you'll have time to have health breakfasts without worrying about being late. Don't eat TOO much junk food, because that'll make you gain weight in the wrong places. Then, tone your muscles but doing cardio, crunches, pushups, etc.

Examples of food-

Breakfast: 1-2 scrambled eggs, a container of yogurt, a glass of orange juice

Stuff like that. =]

Drink a lot of water, too, and have granola bars as in between meal snacks. =]

Eyeliner is bad for your eyes if it gets in your eye, but if you apply it properly, I don't think it'll hurt you.

eat junk food i guess and food that has alot of fat in it but some people just have a very fast motabalism (i also do my self) thers not much u can do but i know a trick though you know how your not soppose to eat after 7pm well eat just a little before you go to bed and do that for a while tell me if it works and no eyeliner is not harmful to you eyes i use it every day :)

I have a couple of friends who weigh 86 lbs and are your age believe it or not. And no one calls them anorexic. (Well, we sometimes do as a joke but they get it.) You should be happy you're not overweight. That would be worse. Anyway, try not to worry about it because when you are older you'll appreciate it more.

i love it when i wear eye liner but my mom says that it make me look to old and that i'm not ready for it. so that could be the case. it is not bad for you eyes. and your dad probably lets you wear it cause their dads and they don't know any better. lol.

Eat a balaced diet and exercize and do cartio. don't eat alot of junk food so that you get fat everywhere but eat enough so you gain weight even in the bad spot to gain it because you have to be balance out.=)

With regard to you gaining weight, you should speak to your family physician about it. They may give you a meal plan or advise you to begin taking multivitamins to be sure your getting all of your needed nutrients.

Eyeliner will only harm your eyes if you have a reaction to it.
