is it just me but how can the catholic church keep paying out compensation to protect paedofile priests and then preach from the pulpit about where our sins will lead us?

You've obviously never been inside Catholic Church recently - they never preach on where out sins will lead us. They are righting the wrongs they have done many years ago and rightly so. Many many decent Catholic priests out there.

Mainly because the people who commit those sins are paedophiles (correct spelling), not priests as such. There is nothing in the Catholic religion that condones their behaviour. As there is nothing in the Muslim religion to justify the actions of terrorists. The compensation is for the victims, not for the benefit of the priests. Should they not be compensated for their ordeals? Seems you haven't been to many Catholic services either, cannot recall last time I was preached in the way you describe. Usual inflammatory nonsense of a question on this subject but 2 easy points.

I hope to God all these things will stop, and I am they will in due course.
Every Priest is being watched now, and the majority of Priests are are real followers of Jesus. But you will always get the one bad apple in a barrel, and these are being weeded out. The bad Priests will be kicked out, the Church wont want any more scandal, nor will they want to pay out large sums of cash ever again.

The Roman Catholic 'Church' was always a caricature, an unbelievably idiotic attempt by brainless or desperate Roman emperors to copy the church. So its infamous evils, that continue into the present, should be no surprise. What is mind-boggling is that people can't see that. In my understanding they had to sell Church assets as land and buildings to pay the debt. Not sure where the money comes from, since they give most away to the poor, and priests are poor.

I am sure child abuse occurrs *only* in the catholic church, as a matter aof fact, the catholic church invented it and the pope holds the patent... modern science tells us child abuse,. incest and similar perversions are unknown outside of catholic church...

Jesus had the same questions in His day, of the "doctors" of the law ("religious" leaders), who take a way the keys of knowledge ... a.k.a. "hypocrites" (PARASITES)
