Actually, the Vikings weren't a people. "Viking" is a verb. To "Go in Viking," means to go pirating. Not surprising for people in the Nordic Countries. Spend six months of the year sitting on your butt, in the dark, when it's freezing outside, and your wife is saying, "Why can't we live someplace nice, like England?"--you just can't wait to take it out on somebody.

The most common Norse Religion was Asatru, although some of the Finnish cults penetrated that far south. Here are some links. Explaining Asatru:

I have never heard of a religion called "Vikings". I have, however heard of the native religion of the Norse people, called Asatru. This is essentially a polytheistic pagan religion. There are neo-pagan reconstructions. Maybe she actually meant an RPG or something that has elements of Norse mythology. "Vikings" sounds more like a game than a religion.

The heaven of VALHALLA. supposedly all Viking warriors killed in battle go there.
Of course, Vikings no longer exist as they were, but there descendants do in Denmark.
The religion does not in any way agree with what the Bible teaches.

OK...VIKINGS NEVER WORE HATS WITH HORNS!!!

Now, if she is like me and "worships" a pro-football team, she may be part of the "1st Church of the Minnesota Vikings" like I am a member of the 1st Church of the Dallas Cowboys". Otherwise, all I can think of is the Norse Mythology where they had multiple gods like the ancient Romans or Greeks.

Try looking up Asatru. That'll explain a lot.

Perhaps it refers to the Norse gods.
