We are having disposable cameras at each guest's table. Our guests will be asked by the DJ to take a photo of each person at the table. After that they may take what ever photos they choose. My questions are,
Where is the best place to put the cameras when they are finished taking the photos? Also what type of container or decoration should be used to put them in. There will be 24 cameras.

I would put a note with the camera- people may pick up the camera before they get instructions from the DJ.

I might also tell them to take a picture of each person or couple. That way you can save film for funny pictures.

You might also want ot include a challenge- "The funniest picture of the entire group" "most creative" "most romantic" ...

I would also ask make sure you have a place that your guests can actually see the pictures ( a personal website can be listed somewhere or collect emails so you can send them a link)

I would keep the container simple. You must have large basket some where....throw a ribbon on it and your all see.

Target also has tons of large boxes- look around the end of the aisles= that is where they have lots of clearance items. You will find something there or HOMEGOODS for sure!

at our wedding we tried this and the younger guests took the cameras home with them. Have a decorated box at the bride and grooms table to deposit the cameras. Have the dj also ask for them them to take candid shots of the wedding party. have the dj remind the guests several times during the evening to turn in the cameras. We didn't get one camera back. don't be shocked if you get some *** shots as someone will drink to much and think that is a great idea!!

1. don't buy "wedding cameras" just buy regular disposable cameras, the quality of the wedding cameras is horrible....make sure the flash is automatically always on. Fuji film makes the best for the price. If you think they are ugly just wrap them in decorative paper.

2. have a basket as they exit the reception to put the cameras in, perhaps halfway through have someone switch out the guestbook with the camera basket. Make sure to number the cameras 1-whatever so you know if someone forgot to drop theirs off.

You don't need a container for them when they are on the table, just place them on plates or next to the centerpieces.

I've just seen the guests asked to leave the cameras on the table when they're done with it... then someone can go around and pick them all up before the place is cleaned... I feel that way is also better because then someone won't mistakenly walk out with one (I know plenty of people who have enough to drink then forget what they were planning on doing while leaving (including myself!).

I would just set them right on the table with a note beside it asking people to use the camera for candid pictures (but in a better way of saying it).

You could have some tuuperware type box somewhere in the reception room, out of the way, but let people know where it is. Any type of box that doesnt look tacky I would say. I wouldnt think that would be a major part of the reception that people will be looking at. Possibly have the box have ribbons on it, or some other decoration that was used somewhere else in the room. But in the begining of the reception they are usualy placed on the tables, like in the middle of each table where they will be sitting.

Hi, If you haven't already got your cameras... have a look on ebay. I got mine super cheap!!! (They're the proper wedding ones too!)

From past experience from friends weddings, you usually ask the guests to leave them on the table their sitting at and at the end of the night you get someone to collect the cameras along with the gifts. (That way if 1 goes missing you can narrow it down to which table it's from)

Another alternative is to ask them to place it on the gift table or wishing well table.

One other tip... I would ask the MC to request that the guests be respectful with the cameras and only take photos at the table their sitting at. I know of weddings where guys have taken them in the the toilets and taken photos of their _____.

Good luck with your wedding and I hope all your photos turn out amazing!!!

We also did this at our wedding and got a lot of great pictures. We also got a lot of th same pictures and some of the floor, but it is worth it!

We had the guests leave the camera on the table and then put someone charge of collecting them before leaving.

I had a box near the door that was wrapped and had a small sign to designate it as the camera box. Do not limit your guests on what they can and cannot take, you'll have a lot of wasted film that way because very few pics will be taken. When I got mine back from the developer I had some interesting ones ( a nephew took a pic of his plate! - but it's fun to look back on now 5 yrs later), but nothing that was distasteful.... and if there was, pics are easily thrown away!

Good Luck!

We did that for our daughters wedding and got some really great pictures, just decorate a cardboard box and put it by the exit and make sure you tell everyone where to put them after the reception or just ask them to leave them on the tables and pick them up yourself.

maybe get a basket from a craft store and decorate it with some nice silk flowers and ribbon or tulle. or get a carboard box and wrap it in a nice thick quality wedding gift wrap. the guests can deposit the cameras in to the basket or box and you can collect them at the end. just put up a printed card that states please deposit cameras here or something along those lines..
