I don't know what is worse. A question about the birth of the universe or a question about the end of this planet.
Both ideas about a beginning and an end have no observable data to substantiate them except the experience of birth and death as a human being.
Huge narratives have been constructed by people since cunieform (and since cave drawings) to somehow shape their lives within a meaningful story and usually these are about 'beginnings' and 'endings'
What Jesus tried to do (among a host of other things) was put a full stop in this ridiculously adolescent narrative and inform us that we need to grow up now and discuss eternity.
I don't mean to be offensive when I use the phrase 'grow up' but I can't help thinking that mega-narratives shooting round the globe these days about 'evolution' (a beginning) are like verbal equivalents to a kindergarten playroom for lemmings. First of all, it's not very intelligent to talk about a beginning and an end in a linear way like this because the universe is not linear. If you emphatically say, for example, that the universe came into existence in the year 203,342,456,000 BC some bright spark (my 11 yr old daughter for instance) will ask, 'well, what existed before that then?' If you suggest rather lamely that 'nothing' existed before the birth of the universe you'd be hard pressed to come up with observable proof for your description of 'nothing'. Even poor Professor Dawkins would be a little red faced at this particular juncture. The alternative is that 'something' existed before the birth of the universe, and this 'something' has existed for how long?

No, let's grow up now shall we and talk about the universe with a little more intellectual integrity? Mmm?
The end? Doesn't exist. Just like its sister, the beginning. Doesn't exist.

The end of the world is just ahead. Infact, it is just at the end of the corner and it will come more sooner than expected.
The writing is already on the wall with the natural calamities, wars, famine et al. These are all signs that one should be ever-ready because the end is near.
Science has made us to believe, wrongly though, that the world has hundreds of thousands of more years to travel and this has made us to relax thinking that there is more time ahead.
The truth is that the world has a 5,000 year cycle which is eternal and predestined. In the scriptures, we are told that 3,000 years before Christ, heaven existed.Infact, heaven marked the beginning of the world cycle. And Jesus, having left the world scene 2,000 years ago marks the completion of the drama cycle.
So on account of the 5,000 year cycle the 5,000 year period is now and here with us.
There is, therefore, no more time left. This is the Iron Age which symbolises the end of the World Drama Cycle. And just as we had the first and second world wars, there is bound to be a third. The causes could be anything -religion, arrogance on the part of the world leaders each showing off his superiority, anger et al and aided on with the power of science, and natural calamities, rivers of blood will flow.

We are not at the end of the world ,but are at the end of the age and so must prepare ourselves for the higher teachings that come with it .We are now entering an age where we are to evolve our higher spiritual nature that we all have within ourselves. The great 'World Teacher' for this new time is the Lord Maitreya who is the elder brother of the human evolution and comes not alone ,but with a group of very highly developed men known as the Masters of Wisdom.Man at this time is ready for a higher revelation about himself as a spiritual being and so will be taught in the art of self realization and to build a new and higher civilization that this world has never seen before.

I believe it will be sooner than most people think.

It will be caused by God. He created it, and He can make it do anything He wants it to do.

There will be severe oxygen depletion due to the destruction of the grass and trees and shrubs.

There will be severe drought because of the poisoned waters.

There will be severe cold due to a third of the sun losing its light.

There will be plagues of locusts that will sting people to the point that they want to die, but do not die.

RB is right, the world will not end at this time, but it will be the end of the age. After these things Jesus will return and set up His own kingdom for a thousand years. Then it will be the end of this earth and there will be a new heaven and a new earth. Essentially God will create the new earth like the garden of Eden.

Q: the end of the world? when will it be?

A: No one knows except God.

Q: and what will be the cause?

A: "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." - 2 Peter 3:10.

The world, as in the earth, will never end:

"... the earth is standing even to time indefinite." -- Ecc 1:4

"For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited..." --Isa 45:18

Armaggedon is the destruction of all who oppose God's rulership, especially the organizations who are claiming to represent God's rulership on earth--the world of ungodly mankind.

"Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. --Mt 24:36

The Cause is one of Justice.
God's Son --in Kingdom power-- will wipe out all those --intent on doing things their own ways instead of God's-- off of the earth forever, NEVER to be able to cause problems again. Everyone resurrected during that time will be educated & given the choice to make as to whether they will be loyal --or not-- to God's will, too. After that 1,000 years, there will be a final test & judgement, at the end of which all the then-disloyal will also be cut off from life forever--including Satan & his demon hordes.

No one will know when the end comes until it comes...God says no man knows the minute or the hour...not even the angels...The cause will be the simple fact that God said it after Adam and Eve disobeyed him by listening to the deceiving devil that tricked them both into eating off the tree. Another thing the end is near and always has been---God gives us warning signs he said there will be wars and rumors of wars and we are in a war at the moment...I mean the Bible speaks truth and it doesn't take much to read it and you know it will end in fire it is how God promised it to end and he fullfills all of his promises...smiles 2 ya !

biblically, there is no such thing as the end of the world or the end of the earth. It will continue to exist forever. However, the bible does state that during God's war of Armageddon, as mentioned in the book of Revelation, he will bring an end to this "system of thing". That is, the world affairs, wicked people, badness, ect. If you look at the book of Matthew, Jesus stated that people would behave certain ways and that certain things would have to happen before the end would come. Look up these scriptures:

2 Timothy 3:1-5
Matthew 24:3-14

The end of what WORLD: the planet Earth, the religious world, the humans, the life on this planet, the end of the Solar System, the end of the Milky Way, the end of the Universe or maybe my personal existence.

Remember that the end is only the beginning.
