I use cold water because it helps keep my breath cool with the toothpaste. Warm water and mint toothpaste arent to tasteful and leave a nasty feeling.

If I had a choice, I would prefer warm water because I have sensitive teeth. But I would guess that a good number of people use cold water because they do not get warm or hot water out of the tap right away...they usually have to let it run before the water is warm/hot. (A tangent: we capture this cold water. It usually takes over a gallon of water to run before we can get to the hot water. The collected water is then used to water the plants.)
And I agree with the other comments...cool water seems to taste better with minty toothpastes. But I also believe that warm water is a better solvent than cold water (so it is probably more advantageous to rinse with warm water if you are trying to rinse out starches, sugars, and acids.)

To me it's just a more refreshing feeling when I wake up, than using warm water.

Because warm water comes from the hot water tank that can be rusty??? (that's my excuse)

i prefer to rinse with cold bcse i think rinsing with warm water is gross. the cold water is refreshing with my minty toothpaste
