no, but don't strike a match near it, or stand there and breathe in the fumes.

First you need to have the POL fitting checked. There is a spring loaded valve in it that should prevent a continuous flow of gas from coming out when you disconnect the line from the grill even if the valve is open. Secondly, unless you intentionally inhale large amounts of propane, it won't harm you, an ignition source on the other hand would probably put you in a trauma center burn unit.

Not likely when out in the open, unless it continues for a long time. Propane is heavier than air so it is close to the floor or ground. A match or lighter may set an explosion.
You most close the valve before disconnecting.
If you closed the valve and heard a hissing sound, you may have a faulty valve. Do not attempt to carry it in your car or take indoors anywhere. You may have to let the gas escape in a SAFE place, outside, then replace the valve.

Propane is heavier than air so it will collect on the floor much like water would if you were to spill it in the same way.
It will sit there until its blown away. If in a basement that means it stays a long time. Fill a room and you will suffocate before it gets chance to poisen you....if it is poisenous.
Its alos very very very flamable and will ignite easily. DONT try it.

If you inhale too much propane it can make you sick or kill you. If you did it outdoors it is unlikely that you'll inhale enough to do any ill effects, it make you nauseous though.
You should always close the valve and disconnect the hose carefully and slowly, a sudden discharge can cause a fire or an explosion.

You stand there long enough and you'll get a buzz.
DON'T DO IT! It will kill you if you do it too much or too often.
Oh, and don't strike a match or flick your bic, unless you want to become the first person to go to the moon without aid of the space shuttle.

It's not poisonous in the sense that being around it can harm or kill you, like chlorine gas. You shouldn't inhale it.
It is flammable, so you shouldn't let it leak for a long period of time, and make sure no one is smoking.

Propane is colorless, odorless and non-toxic. It will not harm you.
but if you put your head in a gas stove, you will die, not because the gas is toxic, but because of lack of oxygen.

Propane is not toxic. But it is of course highly flammable, and a spark could cause significantly unpleasant results.

If it is just for a second or two it shouldn't but anymore than that could kill you if an ignition source is near by.
