im the same. i feel like **** if i know there's something im not clued up on, even if its just some petty gossip. i dont think its a problem, unless its a problem to you. if you feel its causing a disturbance to your everyday life, see someone about it. i used to really annoy my teachers, especially in science because i was always asking questions. everyone else accepts the way things work, people like us have to know why. if you know why, you can work with it. knowledge is power!

Learning is good but there is not enough time for anyone to know everything .
Life should be a balance of daily learning AND
Daily doing .

As long as you are also being productive at something ,
There is nothing wrong with new knowledge .

I don't think it would be wrong at all, but when it gets to the point when you're showing off your knowing-of-all to people, it might make them see you as a know it all. But I think it would be awesome to know as much as anything, the brain is powerful and can hold more than humans can imagine. Most of the people who succeed in school and in life, are people who simply want to learn, and think it's interesting. Everyday you can learn so much, you just have to let your mind absorb, and listen to people who know what they're talking about.

One Half of Knowledge
is
Knowing where to find the other half

e.g. - our database at work has a VERY extensive phone list
for our county - but - we needed to get medical information from a hospital in a neighboring county

not having called that number before, we did not have anything in the supervisor's Rolodex

I overheard the commotion - and had the answer in 10 seconds - to the stark amazement of the supers

HOW? - I Googled and hospital

The senior super's words - "I would have never thought of that!"

My propects for promotion look pretttty good now - if only I could spel

Someone who is a know-it-all wouldn't need to know everything and anything because she/he already knows everything. I am the type to want to know everything and anything also. Especially when I meet someone new or come across something I've never seen before. You do have to becareful in a sense that some people may feel uncomfortable telling you stuff that you may think is no big deal...so make sure you let them know that they don't have to share anything if they are not comfortable sharing.

No, it's not. I think it's really cool to learn new things, keeps life interesting!

But if you're asking people questions about their life that feel intrusive, they're not going to like it. You have to have a high level of friendship with people before asking them about personal stuff. Or at least you have to have their permission, and acknowledge that it's a personal question and that if they don't want to answer it's OK. Even then, you've got to do it in the right way, out of concern for them, not just out of curiosity. People want to feel like you care, not like they're just a bug to be looked at.

It probably means you have the positive characteristics of curiosity and a high IQ!! The only bad thing about being a know-it-all is if you: 1) Put others down about your knowledge..."I'm smart, you're so dumb." 2) You talk about knowledge when caring is needed: "My tooth hurts." "Oh, you must be omitting your proper dental care!" 3) You use knowledge to alienate yourself from people.

NO! It is definitely not wrong. You go for it, learn as much as you can, exercise your brain.
A know-it-all can be annoying when that person is constantly going on and on or constantly correcting other people, but that doesn`t have to be you.

No, it's a good attitude, but likely if you are being annoying with questions or just showing off knowledge in a "i'm better than you" way, you need to shutup for a while. people don't like that, and if they are calling you a know it all they probably feel like you are being that way.

No, but it's wrong to ask if it's wrong! Everybody who knows anything would want to know a know-it-all. Then they would listen to you and then they would know it all. Soon, everyone who knows anything would know everything and everyone else would know nothing. Then the people who know nothing would kill everyone who knows it all (because know-nothings don't like know-it-alls) and everyone would know nothing. That's progress for ya!
