Sometimes, when I dream, I dream about something that hasn't happened yet. There was this one dream where I was with some friends.

We were in school just talking and fooling around like we always do when one of my good friends said something weird. It struck me right then that I had experienced that moment before, only I couldn't remember when.

I know it happened, so thats when I realized it had happened in my dream. It was really freaky. How can this be true? Do you think I maybe thought of something similar to the situation and confused them?

I could have sworn it had happened before! Can someone help me?

Deja vu is totally different. The article below should satisfy your curiosity.

Word Etymology:
- French for "already seen". a.k.a.
- "Paramnesia" from Greek word para (παρα) "parallel"
- mnēmē (μνήμη) for "memory"

* Deja vu describes an experience of a feeling that one has encountered, experienced or witnessed previously.

It`s quite an experience isn`t it?

Deja Vu is the illusion of having previously experienced something actually being encountered for the first time.

So my guess is that it could happen anywhere, from in your dreams, to even in real life. Deja Vu can be a feeling that a situation had happened before, even if it hasn`t. It can have a dull familiarity to it. Some people think they`re pychic after they have a Deja Vu. I thought I was pychic for a while, until I came back to earth ;)

My experience happened when I was about 8 years old. I sat up in bed really fast just as my mom was walking by my door in the hallway. I asked, "Are we having corn for lunch?" She paused for a second and said "Uhh, yeah." Then she continued down the hallway into the bathroom. Then, I woke up, realizing it was a dream. I sat up really fast -- just to see my mom walking by my door in the hallway, and ... you know what else happened... THE EXACT SAME THING AS IN MY DREAM. It`s a pretty random thing asking if we were going to have corn for lunch... but I find it amazing how my mom was wearing the exact same thing and even paused before she answered.

I try not to think about it too much because my brain might explode.

hope I helped <3

well, when I deja vu, I have a dream about going someplace and later on, I end up being in that place that looked EXACTLY like my dream. for example, when I was in first grade,I dreamt about someplace that had a double door on the left and a staircase on the right .and 4 years later,in fifth grade, when I went to a beta club convention,I saw that EXACT SAME THING!!! it was unbelieveable! I haven't deja vued lately, but that's my story. hope I helped!

Deja vu is a trick of the mind. It sure is possible that your event did happen in the past, but if it is deja vu, then it is possible that the event didnt happen, and you feel like you are 100% positive it happened.

i think you has a premonition and not deja vu. deja vu is something you have when you are awake.
