Yes this is a debilitating illness. Though you know that many times you feel pretty good, you also know that there are times when you need extra help and protection. It should qualify you for SSI

Many people struggle with mental health issues and are not disabled. You have to take into account whether you are able to perform the activities of daily living, and how much assistance you need. Perhaps you should speak to the professional who diagnosed you as bipolar for an opinion as to your disability status.
If you are applying for SSI/Medicare you can request a free evaluation from an attorney who practices Disability law for a legal opinion.

I even have widely used a Taurus with Gemini growing to be who's a splash bipolar, for particular. I additionally knew an Aquarius who became bipolar in the extreme. There may well be a splash to what you're saying yet i don't probably know.

It depends on what you mean. If you want to know if you qualify for SSI, go to the nearest Social Security office & pick up an application. Fill it out, with help if necessary. If your income is low & you can't keep a job because of the Bipolar, you may be eligible. It takes up to six months to find out. For SSDI, check at your job. For General Assistance, ask at a welfare office.
Good luck!

If it interfers with you being able to take care of yourself by making a living then you would be considered disabled. However I hope you can get the treatment you need so you won't be disabled by this terrible illness.
Good luck and God Bless you.
