We do not want to overfeed our 3 indoor cats. 2 adult females and one male who is 17 months old. All have been spayed or neutered. How much per day do we feed them.

I am no vet but...
My girlfriend and I have many pets, and we foster animals too. We have four indoor cats, all adult. I think that a 17 month old cat is an adult, because females become sexually mature in under a year. ( I think in around 8 months!)
We feed our cats one measuring cup of food, twice a day, around seven a.m. and seven p.m. Our cats are not obese, but the two males are larger than the females, because they are dominant, and eat more, and more often. Sometimes I will put the food away, or skip one feeding if I notice only the males eating. For three adult cats, I think one and a half cups per day is more than enough.
It wouldn't kill them to feed them too much or too little for a while, until you find the right amount. Size does matter, and cats do have finicky habits. We have been told that our males are large, and very healthy.

Twice a day half a can every time. adults need 1oz. per pound . But if you give them hard food to just leave it in there bowls during the night. Check the Crude protein it should always be more than 10% and fat 3.0% is good but 2.5% is ok too.

As much as they'll eat in 15 minutes, twice a day. Check how much they put down into their stomachs, by putting each cat's food into a different bowl. You'll get an idea of how much they eat that way.

just leave a big bowl of food out, thats good quality. As long as you buy good food and the cats play with you and each other they will be the right size.
