Would amber highlights work on a person with black hair?

No you have black hair, amber is too bright of a shade to use...try like a golden brown, auburn,or blonde.

Amber highlights would work. However, keep in mind that you may need a double process of color since your hair is dark. What I mean by double process is that you may have to get it bleached and then have a semi color applied onto that in order to achieve the color that you want. However, bleach can be damaging. Extra conditioning is needed. The semi would add some conditioning back into the hair.

well is your hair black or dark brown? I do amber hightlights in dark and black hair all the time. bleach would be used to litf it to a lighter shade then toned. i think it would look beautiful. if you want more texture you could even a a mocha or a darker brown too. good luck! ps hair color is always fun to play around with..

No. Use burgundy or auburn colors. Highlights that are really light, do not look good or "natural" on very dark hair. Think about it. It would look like a very nasty, cheap weave, or fake as hell.

I think it would look really hot if you have small highlights everywhere. It really breaks up all the black. I did that when I dyed my hair black once, and it doesn't look as harsh.
