I believe this forum has some amazing Muslim Women who have done a tremendous job time and again of standing for their rights and love is Islam. Where they consider Islam as a religion of liberation and not one that controls. They are the one seeing the toughest time around the world because they are so misunderstood and here they are on R&S sharing what their religion stands for. I think they have done so much better then us Muslim guys. Hats off to them. The name that clearly comes to mind is Proud Muslima and so many others. Thanks for what you stand for!

It is my observation that all Muslims on this forum have been subjected to considerable prejudice, and have all responded with remarkable restraint and grace. They have set an example that we all can learn from.

I tip my hat to Proud Muslimah and all the Muslims that I've seen on here; I've not seen anything but polite, courteous deportment. You do your religion great service by excellent example.

I do whole heartedly agree with your views that Muslim Women on R&S done better than the men over the past several months when our religion and its followers were under calculated attack in R&S by a few 'known' IDs and follower of faiths who are at dagger head with Islam.

When I joined Y!A in April-2006 I found that R&S was completely having one-sided and biased Askers and Respondents who were maligning Islam and Muslims by the outcome of the events in Iraq and Afghanistan.

These Anti-Islam Users of R&S wanted to let world believe that Islam is religion of hate and Muslims are from Mars (lol). I tried to correct some, Report some, Email some and what not. But at one point I gave up when I found that our Muslim brethrens were copy-pasting long quotes from Holy Quraan and Hadis which reached to the point of annoyance since who has time to go through such long paragraphs? I'm sorry for this long reply too.

Then came a band of our Muslimahs and I think sis-Azra and Roushni were a few pioneers whom nobody mentioned above who took the courageous step to enlighten people those truly had misgivings without any bias against Islam.

I can safely say that these Muslimahs did the 'Mummy's job of nurturing kids (Anti-Muslims) with as far as correct information who wanted to really understand what is going on in the minds of people acting in the name of Islam and more important, how really girls and women view themselves under the code-of-conduct and such religious edicts which apparently seem to have discriminated them.

Keep up the good work sisters and try to be modest and nice with people who doesn't subscribe to your faith and also those who may be rude and unkind towards our faith.

Wassalam!

I agree with you all the way. The Muslimahs on here very polite, informative, and intelligent. When insults and anger are thrown at them, they respond with a positive aura, while still maintaining their cool and intelligently giving an answer or replying to another answer. They have been, and still are vital when it comes to explaining the truth about Islam and annointing the misconceptions. I enjoy reading their answers all the time knowing they are virtually error-proof, and answer the question beautifully. The hate and prejudice that is spread on here is alleviated by these Muslimahs who are evidently dedicated to their faith. On the other hand, not to generalize, but many Christians and Atheists answer with hate and false information about Islam to incite something that will serve their own purpose. But once again, the Muslimahs triumph over their ignorance and teach Islam properly once more. Mashallah! Inshallah their blessings and love on here will guide them closer to Paradise, and may peace be upon them. You are greatly appreciated here, and are almost required to allow the culture of the Religion and Spirituality section to flourish and bloom so beautifully =)

Asalamwalaikum,
I think the reason sisters may seem to be doing better is b/ many of us are recognizably Muslim and spend time most days explaining our faiths. I can't speak for any others.... but as a convert myself i've spent a great deal of time explaining things to family and friends. So maybe many sisters have just had a lot of practice :)

Even in spite of this, i've seen many brothers defending Islam quite educatedly and eloquently.

the only criticism that i might have is that i've seen a number of angry Muslims here.... we should all be keeping in mind that:

"The Muslim is that person whom you should never fear what comes from his mouth or from his hands."

-Prophet Muhammad(saw)

Peace and Blessings,
Sakina

I think all Muslim brothers and sisters are doing a great job. May Allah reward them all. And while we may not see the fruits of our labor now, we shall see our tree's of rewards in paradise. Inshallah.

Thank you for your appreciation brother. And sister Proud Muslima is a great addition in this big R&S community.

We appreciate everyone trust me. In fact sometimes I give more respect to non-Muslims who are tolerant because they allow me to see that humanity prevails.

Every Muslim deserves credit on this forum, for not rising to questions that are meant to goad them into anger. My last question had to with this topic, and the amount of garbage that came out of Christian mouths was astonishing! keep doing what your doing, you are excellent representatives of your faith, and with luck will help to change the minds of the ignorant.
