I remember when he stopped making music and converted to Islam. Nobody could understand why he would want to silence such a gift from God as his music is.
We thought maybe he didn't really realise that his singing and music IS a gift from God, given to him to share with the world to bring it happiness.
Im very glad that he has come back to his music even a little bit lately. I loved his albums back in the 70's, they were so good.

Well, my girlfriend(Hi imok) is an atheist, but I am a liberal Christian. I do know that Cat Stevens is an enemy of the western regime, and it has caused him trouble in the past. I will take a gander at the link you provided.
