Why does the bible Contradict itself here? And what are your rationalizations?
God CAN be seen:
"And I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my backparts." (Ex. 33:23)
"And the Lord spake to Moses face to face, as a man speaketh to his friend." (Ex. 33:11)
"For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved." (Gen. 32:30)
God CANNOT be seen:
"No man hath seen God at any time." (John 1:18)
"And he said, Thou canst not see my face; for there shall no man see me and live." (Ex. 33:20)
"Whom no man hath seen nor can see." (1 Tim. 6:16)

Man is a trichotomy. This means he is composed of 3 parts, those being: body, soul (mind, will & emotions), & spirit.
A human body cannot endure in the presence of a perfect being. The human form would instantly decompose.
However, the spirit of a man CAN witness things in the spirit realm.
How these verses seemingly contradict each other is that a physical body has never physically seen G-d. However, spirit beings that reside within the mortal & fleshly body have witnessed G-d.
This bypasses the contradiction. Many of the seeming contradictions can be understood when not interpreting from a physical point of view but from a spiritual one.
I hope this helps!

The Hebrew words often take on other meanings. Here the adjective "face to face" can mean to turn toward or in front of or in the presence of. So if it is looked at that way, no pun intended, Moses was in God's presence and facing toward him. He did not see God's actual face as it was shielded from him but he saw a preview of the glory of God and so was alive to tell of his experience.

No man can see God and live.
Moses only saw God in the sense that he saw God's glory. When God spoke to Moses, it was through an angel (as it says about the burning bush...Acts 7 :30)

The same is with surviving a nuclear bombardment for example yet there is a man (seen it on TV) that experienced that in two cities: Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In this TV clip he explained how he felt.
I agree this is not the perfect explanation but at least you may think there may be a good explanation out there. SO keep looking.
Best regards.

its just an expression of the writer. the real truth is you can't see God, because its a force of life-it is within every living entity. it is every creation of life. CAN YOU DIG IT? . bible bridges human perception of life to reality-the real truth. its a level of perception not just a regular way of thinking.
typical human perception only depends on its personal survival.

The cross referencing abilities of those before computers was limited, we can see the glaring flaws when the various story-tellers stories frankly don't match up, you are free to come to your own conclusion about it of course.

The Bible is FULL of contradicting scripture. This is no big surprise. We've known about it for decades.
It just makes you wonder why a perfect God is incapable of giving a perfect word to infallible men.

No contradictions, the bible is self explanatory, spiritual things are spiritually discerned. You must read and have an understanding of the bible to understand the implications of each scripture you quoted and the context into which each fits and speaks.
