Are Christian missionaries seeking more converts in 3rd world countries because?

Christianity is declining in the western world? Most people are only christian in name. They go to church as a tradition (weading, baptism, death) and not because of spiritual needs?

Who in the U.S.A. has not heard the gospel of Jesus?
Outside of church the best results that I have seen in the U.S.A. is in our prisons. Now, here or a bunch of guys who have gone the wrong way and eagerly desire to do it right the next time they are out. However many wind up right back in prison because when they get out they go hang with their old buddies, or they go look up their old girlfriend, or even their ex-wife that divorced them while they were in prison.

Europe does not seem to be interested anymore either.
I have a grandson-in-law in the U.K. that is a bishop and he talks more about aroma-therapy healing than he does about Christ.

Because I don't know why do they want to convert the whole world to Christianity. They know it well that Christianity has no spiritual value like Hinduism or Buddhism even Jainism. All they talk about is heaven, hell, judgement of God, judgement day, coming to Christ. If Christ was so powerful then why didn't he kill Romans? Who can kill God? Their only hope is conversions. And there is a very noticeable point here which no one notices and it is to westernize. Because wherever Christianity will go western values will also follow. Who do you think will oppose America the most, Muslims in Thailand or Christians in China? The answer is obvious. Now don't talk about French protests to American invasion of Iraq. It was different matter altogether. It was about nationalistic ego. That's why China doesn't allow these missionaries, because they know well that the day these people are allowed to preach freely, China will no more ba a competitor to the west and it may eventually collapse.

No - the great commission was to preach to all nations so that they may hear the word of God - those that hear it are free to accept it or reject it - Bible prophecises that Christ will not return until then - however, when he returns there will only be a "remnant" of his church - that declining group your are speaking of IS the remnant & the word has been preached to the 4 corners of the globe - therefore the fulfillment of prophecy is at hand - IE the 2nd comming ., dont be fooled - Christ said he will come like a thief in the night ..

Please don't be so general in your statements concerning Christians. Sure, SOME people are Christian only in name and only go to church as a tradition. But I would have to say that the majority of the people I know attend church regularly for spiritual growth.

Besides that, my church has as many missionaries in "1st world countries" as it does in any other area of the world, depending on how many people are there. I star this question so my friends on here of my faith will notice your question and possibly answer it as well.

They are taking the gospel into any area of the world that has not heard it. However the United States is actually becoming the largest mission field in the world having an ever increasing number of those who have not heard the gospel of Christ.
