Either gas the wine (you can buy the cans of inert gas at wine shops or good kitchen ware stores) or take the air out (hand pump vacuum), seal it and then put it in the fridge. Before drinking, take it out of the fridge and allow it to come to room temp. before drinking. Wine oxidizes just like an apple so if you chill it, the oxidization slows down. Removing the air also slows that process down. Most red wines won't last more than a day, two max after opening.

Recork it and keep it in the fridge. It won' taste as ood as it did when you first opened it but you can drink it (no later than the next day) or use it for cooking for up to about a week.

The fridge and keep a cap on it. Heat destroys it and air oxydizes it. Good luck!
