I am living in Pennsylvania and working in Manhattan. On this April, I made a mistake to file my PA state tax. In order to get the credit back from NY state that I already paid through my paychecks, I checked the PA state tax form's item 23 (Other Credit). Now the PA IRS asked me to submit an OC form for that item. Then I found that the right item I should check is item 22 ( Resident Credit) and attach a GS scheduling form. Now I don't how to fix this error. Is it ok for me to just submit a corrected PA state tax form with the GS form? thanks very much

Hey Joe
Having dealt with this governmental entity before (am currently a PA resident), I would suggest you either contact them through one of these links, or better yet, call them in person so you are SURE that you get the info you need:

http://www.revenue.state.pa.us
http://revenue-pa.custhelp.com/
or
(717) 787-8201

They are willing to help, but they can be difficult if all the "i-s" aren't dotted or the "t-s" crossed. I hope this helps!

If they've already notified you that your return is under review and has a problem, filing an amended return would not be the best way to solve the problem. Talk to someone and the PA department of revenue to find out how to proceed - there should be a number to call on the notice you got from them.

By the way, they aren't the PA IRS - IRS is just federal.
