i met a guy who was from africa a month ago. but just knowing him for a week, he became terribly clingy and often makes presumptions of a serious relationship between the two of us, even though i have made no communication to him that i am interested in one. i have made it clear that he is just a friend. this doesn't sink in and he will often tell me he loves me and it is love at first sight, and that he is more than a friend to me. he is very persistent and won't back off. it's like to him it doesn't matter whether or not the feelings are mutual, just as long as he feels that way its enough to pursue and pressure a woman into a relationship/marriage. it's crazy. is he delusional enough to think that i will marry him and he'll get his greencard? i don't understand him nor his culture. i notice a lot of foreign men particularly african men try to marry women they just met why is that?

you just stated in your question...they want a green card just as the foreign women. For the women, the guys are offer $5000 to marry the woman and after a year and half together (long enough to secure their green card), also lived in sperate housing. Then they show their azz enough to force their husband to file for divorce. Not only the African men is doing this, there are Hispanic and Asian are doing it as well. Once they get their green card then they will show their azz and you be force to kick them out. They have done what they set out to do, get a green card, get divorce, and bring their family to the states. that is why....

stay away from african men.... seriously. no offense to anyone, but seriously.... this dude definitely sounds like he's trinna get a greencard. i've had a couple weird experiences wih african men and i couldn't figure it out either... they are also much more straighforward than white guys. also, foreigners think that american women are very easy and that they can trick them easily. women from foreign countries play very hard to get, so foreign men just try to take advantage when they meet american women. some of us aren't as dumb as they think.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES. and West Indians are even worse. I was offered $10,000 to go to Trinidad and marry someones brother. then I would have had to "marry" him, live with him, have credit cards in common, and a joint bank account. any one of those things will make you responsible for any debt he runs up after he takes off on you, since that is the only address on file for him.
they will say anything, and keep repeating it over and over, until you believe it. they've been practising this for years, and they know exactly what to say, and who to say it to.
tell him no, and to get out of your life. he's scum, trying to get you to "sell" your citizenship to him. and if he gets deported, that's what he deserves. sounds like he isn't legal anyway.

im not sure why that is but you need to be careful. if hes like that then you just should becareful around him. yes they do marry amarican women for greencards. if you keep making it clear to him and he just doesnt listen your going to have to be a little rude if you want to call it that. if it bugs you then tell him you dont like it and he needs to stop. if you dont mind it then please just becareful when you hang out with him ok? good luck with all of this!
