Really, everyone who respects and obeys Jesus Christ goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.
(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house
It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

Religion is my pet peeve. Nobody Should try to talk to another person on the subject. It is the born right of everyone to worship and believe the way they wish. Basically all religions are similar, with few differences. That doesn't make any difference though. You go on believing the way you wish and don't let anyone tell you different. Just tell your grandparents( with respect) that they believe one way and you another and that you do not want to discuss it with them. Then stick by that statement. Whenever the subject is brought up remind them of your choice so that no feelings are hurt.

Yes, it's completely wrong to push religion onto other people. But some of these people are so brainwashed into having to save everyone from hell they push and push it on people. Some even probably feel guilty they could not save people.
I was in a religion like this. I was saved. But my loving mom and dad and siblings were not. Is that not too much for a teen to have on their shoulders?? My family would never be saved. Talk about the sadness, guilt and FEAR.
Also some churches brainwash you into having to constantly "witness" to people in order to do god's work. I think alot of it is based on fear though people will say they love god and that's why they are doing it. .....And what happens if you don't believe in god or don't like him or even just question him??? Well it's off to burn and be tortured for eternity.

I don't think its wrong for someone to try to persuade you of there beliefs. If they honestly think that the beliefs that you have jeopardize your eternal soul, wouldn't it be unloving of them not to? I don't know... that's just my take on it
Another thing, religion is not the only thing people are in other peoples' faces about being better. It's just the only thing that offends people... How many times have you argued/listened to arguments about which TVs shows are better or felt pressured by someone to read a certain book. I don't know one literary "elite" who doesn't try to dissuade all poets from anything but free verse and I have never in my life heard someone claim to be offended by this ... the fact is that when someone says something about religion, it can more frequently offend someone's pride than other things...
Don't view JW as a threat or insult, look it as a challenge to prove your own faith (to yourself)... look at the versus they point to and the things they say... if they have legitimate Bible versus that are inconsistent with what you believe, don't be offended, re-evaluate your beliefs... I guarantee you that if Jesus were alive today, He would have things to say that would offend all of our sensitive ears because NONE OF US HAVE IT COMPLETELY RIGHT... even with God's word, WE ARE STILL HUMAN.

Yes, it is wrong for people to "rub" their own religion on others, but it is all right to preach and explain one's religion to others. However, it is the same with atheists who try to force or "rub" their beliefs into those who have a life and a religion to practice.
To atheists: You don't see us criticizing your views, and most of us respect you and your beliefs, so why are you so ignorant as to not comply by ours?

I know exactly what you mean. i live in utah and i am not mormon which is great for me because i am still young and i don't have to be bothered by religion. however their belief is that at 8 you can be baptised. i'm only 12 and i don't care. but almost all of my friends are mormon. it seems like if i ask them a question about their religion i'm asking to be converted. and when i question what they're saying they get mad at me and won't talk to me for a while. even when i'm very logical about what i'm saying they almost always get mad at me for even thinking that. i've found many holes in that religion. and they're un able to explain. so i just sit there for a half hour or so trying to explain while tehy are just ignorant and won't listen. it's an awful thing to do i think. but i've learned to laugh about it when they try and convert me and i just have decided to raise questions still because i'm the non believer #3!!ian rebel.

They are simply acting out of love trying to help you understand what they feel is true. It may come down to you simply needing to stay away from them. I personally am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I know that there are some people, relatives for example, who may never believe as I do, but it is of course always my hope that, as I feel that following the Bible is important, that others may one day follow it as well. Sadly some people don't understand No, as easily as others.

Unless you are called by God, to be part of His Family in this age, they can preach to you all they want, and you would still not understand the truth in the Word of God. God is not trying to save the whole human race at this time, but is merely bringing to Glory the resurrected saints, and those who are still alive at the return of Christ (True believers who follow the Word of God) to rule with Jesus Christ as kings and priests in the Kingdom of God on earth for His Millennium (1000 yr) reign....Please continue to read this extremely important literature concerning your very soul!......http://www.ucg.org/booklets/GK/

Sure, it is wrong if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Their behavior can preach more to you than words anyway.
