Can I talk to a judge and ask him if i can attend a traffic school to keep the ticket off my record for insurance purposes
And can I obtain court supervision.
This is my first offense and I'm 16 years old. I'm a straight A student that attends a community college and I have never got any other tickets. I was caught in a back road were there are hardly any cars
My insurance is State Farm.

By asking this question you show that you are a responsible person and you care about the consequences. You can't undo what you did but you can explain to the judge that you learned your lesson and from now on you will drive responsibly.
Then, listen to what he has to say and stay out of trouble, not only for the ins premiums but because you want to be a responsible citizen and follow the law.

Okay if they wrote 75 on the citation you are scewed!!!!!!! The fine is most likely going to kill you and I think you being a teenager you will not keep you License. Your grades may help in court but 16 years old and saying it is your first will not help at all. You have not driven long enough to build any track record. Just take you report card with you. The Judge will not take your word for it. Nothing personal but I think they are lie to more in one day than I get in one year.
If he would have wrote it for 19 over rather then 20 you would be in a lot better shape. It is just where they draw the line at.

I am thinking on you citation you and a must appear on it. You could be saved by what the office put on the citation so read the small part.

I drive a tractor trailer and this law is not know so much but it was one passed by the federal goverment making anything over 15 miles over and wreckless and in some states like CA it is a misdmeaner so the fine can reach up too $2000. I had a freind get one over 25 over in AK and they made him pay $1750.

I have attached the state website on this but know it is not all correct. This is what the state will charge you. The county and town can also add to the fine. I got a ticket in CA 2 months ago for 60 in a 55 and the state fine is 155.50 but I was in a city limits and by the time I paid the county fine and city fime it was 418.00

Good Luck and with any luck he will accept you traffic school and the fact you are scared to death over this.

16 and you are driving like a mad banshee already? They should give you a break all right, in your right foot! Your parents should take your licence until you grow up. You put your licence in jeopary with the state. A second offence and you are suspended. As it is, you and your parents get a warning letter. This is from the dmv. When you are on GDL there are no favours, this is the only programme that can be followed.
"Sanctions:
Limit one court supervision for serious offenses
Conviction of any moving violation before age 18 generates a Secretary of State warning letter to the parent and the teenager
Conviction of two moving violations in a 24-month period results in a minimum one-month license suspension. Suspension length is determined by the seriousness of the offenses and the driver's prior driving history
Suspended drivers required to attend a remedial education course may be retested and pay a $70 reinstatement fee "

In many states, a major infraction while on a provisional license will result in losing you license up to age 18 or even 21. 20 over is a major issue, and may be considered reckless driving or even dangerous driving in some jurisdictions.

Cowboy up and take the hit. There's no way out of this one UNLESS you get an attorney. Even then, there are no guarantees.

Definitely ask the judge for a break. Don't tell him it's to keep your insurance down, but let him or her know that it's your first time and your a good student with no prior incidents. Also, bring up traffic school as good punishment and more than likely you'll get it.

being only 16 isn't going to help you at all, it's going to make things worse. 20mph over is also going to make thing worse and i would bet that you get a suspended license.

depend,s on exactly who busted you.......Illinois state police or county cop or local cop......most will let you attend driving school , get supervision , pay big fine.......but if you screw up again....you,ll lose that license......look on the citation...does it say must appear in court.....or can you select supervision/driving school..?......state = 25mph,& over....must go to court....other,s= depend,s......at your age....avoid face to face with judge if possible.....they don,t take kindly to young law abuser,s.....if you must go to court....bring legal aid lawyer......good luck!
