depending on the kitty, you can feed them half a can in the morning and a half can at night but some kitties like to only eat once a day...Other cats may want to eat a full can twice a day but that may be a bit much. I'd stick with one can a day and if anything leave some dry food out for them to much on. I answer this based on those little fancy feast cans that are at most half the size of the normal cat food cans...

FAncy feast is such a small can, a grown cat could easily put down a whole one in one sitting. They'd probably eat two a day, since only three ounces isn't enough to fill them up for an entire day.
I use the 6 ounce cans of 9-Lives Super Supper, and that lasts a whole day for mine.

My cat Chloé gets half a can of Fancy Feast and has dry food in an auto-feeder.

Actually I have two fussy cats, my other guy is not too fussy. They don't need that much moist food. Adult need less food. Moist food will make them gain weight. One can of fancy feast feed my three kitties. I still have some left for the next day. I usually have more then one can of open.

Trust me, if you give them a full can, they will EAT a full can!! But they don't really need that much ... you should supplement their dry food with an occasional "treat" of something like Fancy Feast.

Cats know to stop eating when they are full. (unlike dogs who will eat themselves sick) Fancy feast is a smaller container anyway so a full can would be fine. Meow!

keep in mind that a cat's stomach is very small, it's not important how much they CAN eat, it is important how much they NEED to eat..do your cats go outside, hunt, run alot, stay gone for a couple of days??? If they are indoor cats that just sleep and play, they don't need much food.

Since they're usually about 3 oz, cats could eat two full cans.

Perhaps this depends on the size of the cat..
My tabby and calico can eat the full can, so I'd go with that.
