It means 1st pregnancy. Multiparity Means more than 1 pregnancy.

G4,para 2(4preg. 2 births, 1 sp.ab or termination

I think you are meaning "layman's terms" rather than colloquial....

The term prima gravida is medical for "first time mother"

It has nothing to do with the age.
