I've been told of "black churches," the congregations of which are primarily African-American people.

Say you moved to a small town, alone (no spouse, or anyone with you), where you knew absolutely no one. The town has 2 churches, one a "black church," and one a white "church."

If you are white, please assume that the "black church," is better in terms of quality; nicer people, better sermons, etc....

In this scenario, society and the town expect you to attend the church that pertains to your race, but you feel the oppositte church would be a better place.

If you are white, would you go to the "black church" because it's better in terms of quality, or would you stick to the church of your race?

(Ah; if you're a different race than white/black, please swap out the "black" part with your own race. Sorry, I forgot to add that)

No, I DO NOT have "some kind of race phobia." I was simply curious as to how people felt on this issue.

As I am white I would go to the white church and try to raise its standard. I would be helping those who needed my help most. Is that not what Christ would have wanted? Do you have some kind of race phobia?

In my country, a church is used by any person, that follows the faith. No such situation would happen.

I would be asking. Why is there a "Black Church" and a "White Church" In religion race should be irrelavent.

The black and white scenario should be irrelevant.
I would prefer the "black" church as you put it, because they have much better rhythm.

This question smells of racial inequity.

black or white should not have anything to do with your place of worship but unfortunately in society sometimes it does. However i would go wherever my spiritual needs are being met wether it is a black, white or any other race.
