I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump. I ran over and said: "Stop. Don't do it."

"Why shouldn't I?" he asked.

"Well, there's so much to live for!"

"Like what?"

"Are you religious?"

He said: "Yes."

I said: "Me too. Are you Christian or Buddhist?"

"Christian."

"Me too. Are you Catholic or Protestant?"

"Protestant."

"Me too. Are you Episcopalian or Baptist?"

"Baptist."

"Wow. Me too. Are you Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord?"

"Baptist Church of God."

"Me too. Are you original Baptist Church of God, or are you Reformed Baptist Church of God?"

"Reformed Baptist Church of God."

"Me too. Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915?"

He said: "Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915."

I said: "Die, heretic scum," and pushed him off.

My intention was to post it in the Jokes & Riddles section, but Yahoo chose the category and I wasn't paying attention. Sorry folks!

That's funny...only people who belong to the Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915 will be offended, unfortunately.

it is going to no longer offend any rational non secular sort, on account that's the way it extremely is, no longer purely in Christianity, yet in addition in Judaism and the two super sects of Islam. that's regardless of if those style of religions are from the comparable great source, Almighty God. yet different than for theorizing, it became a sturdy comic tale.

No, it's quite an accurate depiction of how people view their denomination. I know people who think Pentecostal AoG (my affiliate) is superior to Pentecostal Elim and vice versa.

It's sad. We're concentrating on our differences rather than our strengths and things we have in common.

Haha thats a good one, shows how awful religious communities are treating the different view points.

I heard Nicky Gumbel tell that one, and it was addressed to religious types.
I think he meant Christians should stick together.
But was an accurate caricature of how things are.

Very good, and it illustrates the stupidity of Christians finding every excuse to divide themselves.

LOL! That made me laugh!
Yes, it will offend religious people as I've found 99.9% of them:

have no sense of humour

are showing signs of acute mental illness

can not see that they are following an out dated system of control/ coping mechanism for death

get very angry at free thinking, intellegant people that can see religion is for insecure people

are obviously insecure as they would not need such a pathetic crutch/ to feel they belong somewhere

BRING ON THE ABUSSIVE EMAILS!! I LOVE 'EM!!
