I'm tired of just the stuff out of the jar. What's some stuff to add that will jazz it up? I'm not looking for whole recipes.

You have a good point, which got ya a star........I no longer have the time with my schedule to make "Marinara spaghetti sauce" from "scratch", so I went on a quest for the best possible in a jar, and my research landed me in the Classico Pasta sauce realm.......I still "doctor" it up, though, with fresh basil and my other trick to make a more intense "tomatoey" flavor is to add a 6 oz can of tomato PASTE to the sauce and proceed with the recipe.......I also like to buy the turkey Italian hot sausage and remove the casings and brown it and toss it into the sauce as well, along with a drained can of sliced black olives.......add whatever your palate likes, I've just found that when I was in culinary school, I got enough tricks up my sleeve to master just about any culinary dilemma.....Enjoy!!

Over medium low heat, heat the onions and green peppers in olive oil. Once the onions are translucent, and the peppers are still tender, but not totally crispy, add the tomato paste, sauce, and ground beef. Season with salt and pepper, and simmer the sauce until the beef has cooked through, about 25-30 minutes. Add the fresh, chopped tomatoes about 5 minutes before you're done, and adjust the seasonings.

I buy typical jar sauce, add fresh garlic, cook some fresh Italian sausage, crumble and add to the sauce. Heat it all up and it is great.

spinach and parm cheese makes it like a florentine sause.
Also you can add ricotta cheese to make it rich and almost like a pink sauce, you will needto addmore spices though...
