Is antizionism the same thing as antisemitism? Can someone be against the existence of a Jewish state without being against the Jewish people? Please note that for the purposes of this question, antisemitism means anti-Jewish.

No I do not think it is the same thing... while it seems logical that any antisemite (using your definition) would likely be an antizionist, it does not follow that any antizionist would be antisemitic.

Here's an example of where the logic falls apart: Quote from above: "its what they want and beleive in, if you say they shouldn't have it then you are essentially against them!! "

That is like saying that if you refuse to give your kid ice cream against them then you are "against" your kids... just because you don't agree with what someone wants does NOT mean you are against them. The situation is very complex and there are legitimate reasons (that I do not agree with) for some people to be against a Jewish state. Some of these reasons are separate and apart from opinions of the jewish faith and/or people.

I would venture to guess that the same person who wrote "its what they want and beleive in, if you say they shouldn't have it then you are essentially against them!! " would also say that I am "against" the troops because I do not believe in the Iraq war. Silly, shallow, self-serving, and manipulative.

i became raised Jewish and that i've got mixed thoughts approximately what has been completed to the Palestinians and how the Palestinians have reacted. to respond to your question previously i pass on rambling, I do have faith that antizionism and antisemitism are an analogous factor. i've got faith, while the U.N. created the State of Israel for the Jewish people of the international, it became a good factor because of the fact the Israelis mandatory a house, however the international taken care of the Palestinians, in my opinion, comparable to how u . s . taken care of the interior of reach people, they saved pushing them back, till in actuality they have been left with noticeably much no longer something. This terrifies me to think of roughly because of the fact the interior of reach people have been noticeably much wiped out, yet in actuality they did no longer have allies like Palestine does with something of the Arab international. I do have faith there could be a Palestinian and a Jewish state in Palestine. I do have faith the international desires to take a seat and talk this count number over with all the Arab countries, extraordinarily Syria, the Palestinians (Hamas and Fatah), Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Lebanon. i think of they could desire to do this till the two factors can agree and then pass approximately making it artwork. the international could then situate the Palestinians in and help them for a minimum of 10 years with funds and nutrition, and to make their economic equipment so lots extra advantageous and better. in this contract, Israel will make it sparkling that it's going to now no longer attack and attempt to invade different international places and in substitute for this, no person could attack Israel. If a rustic assaults Israel, the international's powers would be allowed to attack that u . s .. If a man or woman assaults Israel, he would be wanted as a criminal via the international and there'll be nowhere that the guy ought to disguise.

Zionists would likely say that to be against a Jewish state is to be against the Jewish people, but others might say differently, so I guess the answer is based on your perspective. Also, there could be a difference between being for/against a Jewish state per se and being for/against Israel specifically as the promised land.

They are not the same thing. In fact, many Jews were against the idea of a Jewish homeland. That sounds anti-Zionist but not anti-Semitic to me.

No, no, no, they are not the same.

I believe it is a great mistake to equate the definition of any group of people with any state. You could almost call it propaganda and in practice, that is how the term anti-Zionism is often used.

Of course, it is even more ridiculous when you consider the limitation that you correctly allude to in defining the word anti-Semitism.

Yes! They are both Jews. The Zionist want the temple rebuilt and it will be praise God. Anyone for Israel will be blessed look at Americans. Anyone against Israel will be cursed. I'd hate to be in Gaza now.
God Bless!

It's a little more complex than that. If you believe that the Jews are God's chosen ppl, shouldn't they be entitled to at least part of the land that God gave them? They are, after all, the only ones who were spec. granted an area of land. No other ppl group were ever selected for such a gift.

In the Zionist world, any criticism of Israel results in an accusation of being anti-Semitic. It is a PR strategy they have used successfully in their campaign to kill all Palestinians.

well, they dont have exactly the same definition but it essentially ends up meaning the same thing.
i mean, why would you not want the jews to have a state of their own if you aren't against them?!!
if they havent got a state, where are they supposed to go? with out a state they lose half of their identity.
its what they want and beleive in, if you say they shouldn't have it then you are essentially against them!!
