gosh i hope there's an optomotrist out there somewhere..

okay, soooo i'm 20. and i have 20/20 vision in my right eye, and 20/60 ish in my left eye
i've been like that since i was little.. but i've got this eye turn, because my left eye goes inward when i try to focus.. and it seems like i only use my right eye (wich is only natural considering thats the strongest eye) i walk around all day, no glasses and i can see fine 9when i focus) the thing is..

my left eye starts to hurt from being turned in all the time.. when i dont focus both eyes are straight. but when i do, the left one goes in and i look stupid.

the doc perscribed me these glasses that make my eyes look big, and theres a prism in the left lense to correct the turn.. but the glasses make me have double vision, and after a while my head starts to hurt. i wanna get my eye fixed.

what should i do? should i get the sight corrected in the left eye to correct the turn, or should i get the muscle fixed so it wont turn

i've got some medical background and my medical is fully paid for because i'm in the navy..

if i get the vision in my left eye corrected to 20/20, would my eye still turn? or if i got the muscle fixed, would i still be able to focus and see, since right now it seems like i just use my right eye to focus with?

You likely are an accommodative esotrope.

When you change your focus from far to near, your eye must accommodate (increase power). When you do that, your brain also makes your eyes turn in; this work well for most people since you need to turn your eyes in anyways to look at something close. If you are far sighted, your eye does not have enough power to see clearly in the distance. So you use your accommodation to increase the eye power to see, which also causes the eyes to turn in.

The glasses add power to your eye, which also makes your eyes look big. Likely the power is stronger in the left than in the right, when this happens you may see double when you are not looking through the centre of the lens. Possibly the power alone is not enough to straighten the eyes so some prism was added.

For a fix, you must correct the farsightedness. You could do this with contact lenses instead of glasses. That should solve the eyes looking big problem and possibly the double vision problem. If the eye is still turned with contacts, then you may need surgery as well. No surgeon will do muscle surgery unless you are also either wearing glasses or contacts to correct the far sightedness.
