"In most interpretations of Sharia, conversion by Muslims to other religions, is strictly forbidden and is termed apostasy. Muslim theology equates apostasy to treason, and in most interpretations of sharia, the penalty for apostasy is death.

In many Muslim countries, the accusation of apostasy is even used against non-conventional interpretations of the Quran. The severe persecution of the famous expert in Arabic literature, Prof. Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, is an example of this. In some countries, Sunni and Shia Muslims often accuse each other of apostasy. The current civil strife in Iraq is explained by many in terms of the extremely harsh religious opposition between Sunnis and Shias in Iraq." - wikipedia

Are you dumb monodeen, "Divine Law RUles"
you cannot tell one person that your "law" is more divine than anothers. You still didn't answer the question. And Muslims didn't treat people equally under their rule, despite the ill-influenced quotes you wrote there, christians and jews were treated badly. That is not democracy with equal rights, especially you cannot impose religious laws on someone who doesn't follow your religion, thus democracy and islam don't mix and we shouldnt be trying to get it done in iraq.

Why are we in Iraq again? Oh yeah, to control their oil, to split the country into 3 sections and have constant civil wars to continue our campaign of sending off our men/women/husbands/wives/sons/daughters to their deaths to make big corporations rich. While at the same time they're moving camp overseas because this country is going bankrupt (if we're not there already) and that's why we borrow $3Billion each day from China to stay afloat.

So we're told that we're killing people that want to kill people because killing people is bad. Ok, explain this one BUSH!!! Many see past your lies, and most are ready for you and your evil regime to leave. But if you do pull off some staged event to bring us into martial law so you can declare yourself dictator, you got another thing coming.

Let's leave Iraq, leave the occupancy of the Middle East and have our troops protect the country from which they're from.

Democracy is not from the Muslims. The Muslims before us did not practice it. The best of the Muslims after the Prophets, the Companions of Prophet Muhammad Sallihi Alayhi wa Salaam did not practice it. When it was time for a leader of the Muslims to be chosen the Companions consulted amongst a small group of themselves to chose a leader. They did no go and ask the general population to chose the leader. You will have to accept the reality that not everyone wants to structure their society as you do. You may think it is strange but we find it strange that you have a system of government that seems arbitrary and seems to be "rule by fools". Does a common person in a democracy really understand the issues? Even if they tried do they have the intellectual capacity to understand the issues?

Like you say, the way to do things to win in Iraq, is to win an ideologic war... But from what I see, the US cannot opposed its ideology to the peoples, but impose it on its infrastructures first and then later into the mass... Still such system will remain unstable even if it works. But I do not believed that you can changed thousands of years of beliefs in a completely opposite ideologie. They have been conversions before made by the conquistadors, and the portugese (Japan and Taiwan), but those were somewhat either forced trough genocides, or used as military advantages (by the Japanese). So the stand taken by the US over there, is not sure to yields the expected results in the time being!

If we stay, it'll take forever. Nothing galvanizes the Islamic World like the word "Crusaders."

Once we leave, there will be some initial bloodshed, but the Survival instinct will kick in, and, in the absence of any real power center, we'll start seeing something like Democracy develop. Unfortunately, it's likely that candidates will campaign on "Sharia Law and Order" platforms.

We really should have left bad enough alone.

No country can be FREE and also outlaw religious conversion.

There is no death penalty in western nations for religious conversion. Several Muslim countries do condemn converts from Islam to another religion to death.

The West is successful because of a separtion between religion and the government. In Islam this separation is a crime.

I'm just going to say this. This is not about religion. It's about control of the oil in the Middle East. Now i know why they are doing what they are doing and the reason i can't get IREPS fully launched, if of course i don't have to file bankruptcy first. This is one hell of a big fight that i fear will end us all up in a world conflict of biblical proportions. Then again maybe thats the whole game plan. Bunch of damn idiots.

It cannot be done. No country can be truly democratic if it is ruled by a religion. Britain only started to become democratic when the Church of England was muzzled. Our country remainms somewhat democratic only because no one religion has gained enough power to tyrannize the rest.

I don't even know how we do it ,It's a miracle that the whole thing doesn't fall apart,, it defies logic, religion has to be involved , and I don't think it matters which religion, no religion is greater then another , God however you spell it, is the only way democracy works , anybody looking at it from a logical point of view can clearly see , faith is absolutely paramount, without it ,, Well - cane slew able

Democracy = Majority Rules

Islamic Theocracy = Divine Law Rules.

Democracy is one of the best ways to get to the establishment of Sharia law...... because in many of the Muslim countries the majority want Sharia law.

Islam built a stable Empire for 1000 years based on Shariah law.

Therefore Democracy is a vehicle to be used to achieve the responsibility of the establishment of the Laws of God.

The Early Islamic scholars were not only Relgious scholars but also scholars in science because they viewed the world as a way to prove how great God is. The Quran has so much science written in it that it inspired the religious devotion to studying the universe and creation to see the awesome power of the Creator. Islam, through the in depth study of the sciences and mathematics in the light of the Quran ---- helped Europe come out of the DARK AGES when the “word” ruled over the land.

The Catholic Church got so UPSET they went on Their Inquisition death hunt and killed or expelled all the Jews and Muslims of Spain who had peacefully coexisted and built great institutions of learning together.

The lesson to learn is that Islam was able to unite all three faiths in Peace in Europe !

"History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myths that historians have ever repeated." --De Lacy O'Leary, ISLAM AT THE CROSSROADS, London, 1923, p. 8.

“The Christian World came to wage crusades against Muslims but eventually knelt before them to gain knowledge. They were spellbound to see that Muslims were owners of a culture that was far superior to their own. The Dark Ages of Europe were illuminated by nothing but the beacon of Muslim Civilization.” (F.J.C Hearushaw, The Science of History.)

“The Renaissance of Europe did not take place in the 15th century. Rather it began when Europe learned from the culture of the Arabs. The cradle of European awakening is not Italy. It is the Muslim Spain.” (Robert Briffault, The Making Of Mankind)

“The lies which we [Christians] have heaped round this man (Mohammed), are disgraceful to ourselves only.” (Thomas Carlyle, Heroes and Hero Worship)

“Muhammed was the most successful of all religious personalities.” (Encyclopedia Britannica, 4th & 11th editions)

“The greatest crimes, the greatest “sin” of Mohammed in the eyes of Christian West is that he did not allow himself to be slaughtered, to be “crucified” by his enemies. He only defended himself, his family and his followers; and finally vanquished his enemies. Mohammed’s success is the Christians’ gall of disappointment… He did not believe in any vicarious sacrifices for the sins of others.” (Edward Gibbon, Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.)
