In my case, I know if I'm in love with the guy because he makes me a better person and inspires me every single day. I introduce him to a lot of people I know and am proud of him even though other people don't see anything special about him. I overlook his faults and try to build the relationship, even fighting for him when my parents told me to break up with him. You always think of the person and this inspires you instead of distracts you.. That's how I know if I'm in love with a person. Sadly, our relationship didn't last.. :(
