Could an unarmed man ever win a fight against a lion?

It's highly unlikely, but remotely possible with careful planning. That's the advantage we have over lions- intelligence. That's why you are reading this on a computer screen in a centrally heated building and most lions are rolling around in their own ****, doing nothing about having their habitats destroyed.

If the lion's tactics and pressure points were studied then it is reasonable to say that a defencive system could be developed to cause a lion serious pain with out weapons. The chances of this actually being employed successfully though are very slim, and I for one have no desire to be the first person to try it out. The problem is that lions are incredibly fast and immensely strong. So if a man was simply ambushed, then he is only ever going to end up as lion food.

i am 6f6in an weigh in at 20 stone (muscle) a lion is a animal which pretty mutch hunts all its life. I am a man who has been fighting all his life so the answer is mabee i would take it on because all things feel pain u tell me that if i can knock people out with a simaler build then with a single punch or kick why not a lame *** cat i wouldnt be easyan people would think i was the animal if they seen the fight because i am a man with higher brain (ican fight dirty) al do it for £100,000 and live to spend the money. Other than that,no--a man is helpless without a weapon against any big cat.
If I were to go up against a lion,I would want a .416 Remington Magnum.

fighting off a lion is possible an 8 year old Taiwanese boy saved his sister from a lion so an adult could do the same, however if too the death I can't see anyone being strong enough to kill one bare handed anyone strong enough just wouldn't be fast or agile enough to do it.

Convincing predators that you aren't prey is the best way to avoid being eaten throwing rocks is a very good method, you stand more chance fighting a bear than you ever do running away

It's possible, but highly unlikely.
Mas Oyama did some nice things with a bull on one occasion (To show his prowess). I'm sure there's a couple people that are skilled and tough enough to at least put of a good fight against a lion, but only a few would even stand a chance.

Yes...Hercules slew the Nemean Lion. The lion's hide was so thick that his weapons didn't work, so he swept the lion's legs and grappled like a Gracie, eventually killing by strangulation (rear naked choke) and breaking its jaw, then he skinned it with its own claws.

Hercules > Most fearsome lion, in myth or reality, ever.

it is highly unlucky, but like all things, if a man studied and watched the lion he might be able to figure out a strategical plan to take him down by finding a weak spot. But if he was to go in there against the beast without any confidence at all,he would be eaten alive in seconds. lions are the fuckin kings of jungle!!
